MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (8/7/25)

Agustin Ramirez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Prospects

Zach's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Thursday, 8/7/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome Back, RotoBallers! After a wild week to start the month of August, most of Major League Baseball is catching its breath and resetting for the weekend. Only four games are on the schedule all day this Thursday, with both DraftKings and FanDuel focusing on the final three for the main DFS fantasy baseball contests. The action gets underway a little early, so make sure to get your lineup cards in early and ready to go for Thursday's mini-slate.

The three games are all interesting matchups as the White Sox wrap up their trip to Seattle, followed by a pair of divisional clashes where the Braves meet the Marlins and the Pirates take on the Reds. The weather looks solid, and we definitely have some interesting pitching matchups to break down on both sides of the ball on this small slate.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/7/2025, with the slate starting at 4:10 PM EST. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Paul Skenes, SP - PIT ($10.7K DK/$10.7K FD)

If you're only going to have six starting pitchers on the slate, having one of them be Paul Skenes works out really well. Skenes is at home against the Reds for Thursday night's start, and he'll look to bounce back from allowing four runs in Colorado last Saturday. Before that, he was locked in with no runs allowed in four of his previous five outings. On the season, he's only 6-8 but has a 2.02 ERA, 2.41 FIP, and 10.04 K/9.

Skenes has averaged 21.9 DraftKings points and 38.04 FanDuel points per start this year, despite his lack of run support. Part of that strong production is due to his consistent strikeout production. He has at least six strikeouts in five straight starts, with at least eight strikeouts in three of those games.

The Reds are a favorable matchup for the Pirates' ace since they rank in the top 10 in K% over the last two weeks, averaging 1.0 strikeouts per inning over that span and 0.96 strikeouts per inning on the season. In his career, Skenes is 3-0 in three starts against the Reds with 25 strikeouts and a 0.53 ERA in 17 innings.

Eury Perez, SP - MIA ($7.8K DK/$9.4K FD)

Perez is a great SP2 play on DraftKings and a solid alternative if you opt not to pay up for Skenes on FanDuel. The 22-year-old righty has made a strong comeback after missing all of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery. He is 4-3 with a 2.70 ERA and 2.79 FIP over his 10 starts, while piling up 51 strikeouts in 50 innings.

In each of his last six starts, Perez has allowed two earned runs or fewer, producing over 24 DraftKings points four times during that stretch. He threw six shutout innings against the Yankees in his last start for 24.5 DraftKings points and 43 FanDuel points.

He should be in a good spot to keep rolling on the road against the Braves, since the Atlanta lineup has struggled all season and is now missing key pieces with Ronald Acuna Jr. (calf) and Austin Riley (abdominal) on the injured list.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Josh Naylor, 1B - SEA ($4.6K DK/$3.2K FD)

Naylor homered in back-to-back games for the Mariners and has given their lineup a huge boost since arriving in a trade from the Diamondbacks. On the season, he's hitting .290 with 14 homers and a .349 wOBA, and with the Mariners, he's hitting .273 with three homers, a .359 wOBA, and a surprising 10 stolen bases in 12 games.

The big boost in speed has helped him average 12.1 DraftKings points per game since joining Seattle, and he's dominated the White Sox in this series with two hits, a home run, and two stolen bases in each of the two games in the series. He'll look to finish on a high note in a good matchup against righty Shane Smith, who is a great matchup to attack as highlighted in the stacks below.

Agustin Ramirez, C - MIA ($4K DK/$3.1K FD)

Ramirez has been a great source of power from behind the plate since his promotion to the majors, and the 23-year-old is hitting .243 in his 89 games with 17 homers, 51 RBI, and a .320 wOBA. He has a 49.6% hard-hit rate and 12.5% barrel rate to back up those numbers and has added five stolen bases in his last eight games while still connecting on three home runs as well.

Ramirez has a 56% hard-hit rate since the All-Star break and has had some of the worst luck in the majors, according to his metrics. If his line drives start finding more gaps, he could have an even stronger finish to the year.

At a tricky catcher spot, Ramirez is a great option to consider on every slate if you have the salary available. He's in an especially strong matchup in Atlanta, as you can see below.

Lenyn Sosa, 1B/2B on DK, 2B/3B/1B on FD - CWS ($2.9K DK/$2.8K FD)

I highlighted Sosa in my bargain basement hitters this week, and the 25-year-old righty has stayed hot with home runs in back-to-back games in Seattle. He comes into Thursday's matchup with a nine-game hitting streak, and during that run, he is 14-for-32 (.438) with four homers, eight runs scored, eight RBI, and a 51.7% hard-hit rate. Those numbers are strong enough to even be a pay-up play, but Sosa still comes at a bargain salary with good positional flexibility, making him an outstanding option for Thursday's small slate.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Julio Rodriguez, OF - SEA ($5.2K DK/$3.3K FD)

Rogriguez hit his 10th home run in his last 22 games on Wednesday night, and he shows no signs of slowing down after becoming the first player in major league history to begin his career with four straight seasons of 20+ HR and 20+ SB earlier this week.

Rodriguez is hitting .297 with a .427 wOBA over his last 22 games, adding six stolen bases to those 10 home runs and compiling an average exit velocity of 93.7 miles per hour over that span. He has run hot and cold throughout his career, but when he's this locked in, he brings an extremely high ceiling and floor with his combination of both power and speed production.

Michael Harris II, OF - ATL ($3.3K DK/$2.6K FD)

One of the few bright spots of the Braves' season has been the recent turnaround for Michael Harris II, who has returned to his Rookie of the Year form over the past few weeks after struggling badly for the early part of the season.

Harris went 23-for-58 (.397) over his last 14 games with four doubles, three triples, three home runs, and a .480 wOBA. He has averaged 10.5 DraftKings points per game over that span and remains very affordable for an outfield bat so hot on Thursday.

Heriberto Hernandez, OF - ATL ($2.8K DK/$2.5K FD)

Another cheap bargain to consider on Thursday night is Hernandez, who has 11 hits in his last 11 games, including a double and a pair of home runs.

Hernandez brings very nice upside and is a good way to affordably fill out a Marlins stack that should be in a profitable spot against Carlos Carrasco (more below).

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Mariners vs Shane Smith

Smith has gone 0-4 in his last six starts with an ugly 9.93 ERA and 7.08 FIP. He allowed at least five earned runs in four of those outings and has a 1.72 WHIP and six home runs allowed in that span. Lefties have eight of the 10 homers against him on the season, so leaning into that side of the Mariners' lineup should set your lineup up for success on Thursday.

Favorite Combo: Arozarena, Rodriguez, Naylor, Crawford, Jorge Polanco

2. Marlins vs Carlos Carrasco

The Braves give the ball to Carrasco for his second start with the team. He gave up three runs on seven hits in six innings in his Braves' debut last Thursday. He struggled to a 5.91 ERA with a 1.53 WHIP in his 32 innings earlier this season with the Yankees, and the Braves picked him up at the trade deadline as a veteran innings-eater to fill in while five starting pitchers are on the 60-day injured list. Carrasco has allowed eight homers in 38 innings this year, and righties have a .415 wOBA against him.

Favorite Combo: Edwards, Stowers, Ramirez, Hernandez
