Eric Cross' updated top 200 dynasty fantasy baseball rankings, updated for June 2025. His top MLB players to target in dynasty leagues for 2025 and beyond.

Another month has come and gone, and we're now starting to approach the halfway mark of the Major League season. Per usual, the season seems to be flying by, and it's time for another dynasty rankings update. There has been plenty of movement this month.

I'll be updating these rankings monthly throughout the 2025 season and posting the Top 200 here on RotoBaller, along with thoughts on trending players.

Many elements go into dynasty rankings, but I primarily weigh the following:

Dynasty Fantasy Baseball Rankings Notes

Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels

After missing the first few weeks of the season, Zach Neto has done his best to make up for lost time. In just 207 plate appearances, Neto is already up to 10 home runs, 11 steals, 26 RBI, and 37 runs scored with a .282/.319/.508 slash line. Even with the missed time, he has a shot at a 25/25 season of maybe even pushing 30/30 if he keeps his current pace.

Neto has improved his quality of contact metrics exponentially across the board this season. After having an 8.4% barrel rate, 88.5 mph AVG EV, and 38.8% hard-hit rate in 2024, Neto has jumped to a 15.1% barrel rate, 91.8 mph AVG EV, and 46.8% hard-hit rate this season.

With the improved power along with his above-average speed, Neto should be an annual threat to exceed 20 home runs and 20 steals while maybe joining the 30/30 club someday.

However, his contact rates, both in zone and overall, are slightly below-average, and he's currently running a 4.3% walk rate and a 27.5% strikeout rate. Neto isn't overly aggressive and has a better-than-league-average chase rate, so I'm not terribly concerned about the strikeout rate rising higher, but it'd be nice to see him walk a bit more and get that OBP up a bit.

Jeremy Peña, Houston Astros

Jeremy Peña took a sizeable leap in this month's rankings update, now slotting just inside my Top-100 overall. With how he's been playing this season, the bump was warranted. In 281 plate appearances, Peña has racked up nine home runs, 13 steals, 36 runs, and 32 RBI with a .319/.375/.484 slash line. That entire slash line would be new career-best marks for Peña, and he's on pace to set career highs in runs, home runs, RBI, and steals.

For the third season in a row, Peña has dropped his strikeout rate, now sitting at just 14.9% to go along with an 87.3% zone contact rate and 75.8% overall contact rate. His quality of contact metrics are all league average or a hair above, but he's able to maximize his power thanks to his 43.3% pull rate and 19.5% Pull-Air rate, which bodes well for someone who gets to take aim at the Crawford Boxes in half of his games.

Add in a 98th percentile sprint speed and you have a well-rounded offensive skill set in a good park and a good lineup. I'm not sure we see another massive leap from Peña in future rankings updates, but sticking as a Top-100 player is certainly possible.

Eury Pérez, Miami Marlins

Usually, these rankings notes are to outline trending players rising or falling in my rankings. But not here. I'm including Eury Pérez in these notes to point out how high I still have him, along with the fact that I never really dropped him too far down my rankings when he was on the IL all of 2024 and the first two months of 2025. Why? Well, you can make a strong argument that Pérez's upside and ceiling for fantasy is one of the five highest ceilings of any pitcher in baseball.

Back in Pérez's 2023 rookie season, he absolutely dazzled with a 3.15 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 8.3% walk rate, and a 28.9% strikeout rate across 19 starts and 91.1 innings. Pérez is one of just nine rookie pitchers in the history of baseball to have an ERA below 3.20, a WHIP below 1.15, and a K-BB rate above 20% in his rookie season while throwing at least 90 innings.

That was just the tip of the iceberg regarding Pérez's greatness in his rookie season. On top of having a fastball that averaged 97.5 mph, Pérez's curveball, slider, and changeup all had a whiff rate above 45%. And now he's throwing even harder than he did in 2023 and has added a sinker to the mix as well. I'm sure the Marlins will baby him this season, which limits the short-term value a bit, but Perez has the stuff to be a Tier-1 pitcher for fantasy long-term.

Addison Barger, Toronto Blue Jays

I'd be remiss not to mention Addison Barger in this month's article, as he jumped from outside my Top-500 all the way into the Top-200 this month. Barger was a force to be reckoned with in May, slashing .292/.370/.517 with four home runs and eight doubles in 100 plate appearances, and already has two doubles and three home runs in 36 plate appearances in June.

After having around league-average quality of contact metrics in 2024, Barger has ascended to near the top of the leaderboards this season with his 14.1% barrel rate, 93.7 mph AVG EV, and 51.3% hard-hit rate. He ranks in the Top-15% of hitters in xBA, xSLG, xwOBA, AVG EV, hard-hit rate, barrel rate, sweet spot rate, and bat speed. Barger also has an 82.8% zone and 74.5% overall contact rate while keeping the strikeout rate in check at 23.2%,

As someone who doesn't run much, Barger will need to continue standing out at the plate for his rankings ascension to continue, but everything looks pretty darn good under the hood right now.

Ozzie Albies, Atlanta Braves

It feels odd not to have Ozzie Albies inside my top-100 anymore, but I simply cannot justify that ranking for him anymore. In 284 plate appearances this season, Albies is slashing an underwhelming .232/.310/.339 with six home runs and six steals. This comes after a disappointing 2024 season where he slashed .251/.303/.404 with 10 home runs and eight steals in 435 plate appearances.

When you look at Albies' profile, he's still making above-average contact, both in zone and overall, and is only striking out 15.5% of the time. Having an above-average contact rate and lower strikeout rate have always been the norm for Albies, but the problem this season has been his utter lack of power.

That trend started last season with Albies dropping from a 39% strikeout rate in 2023 to a 32% hard-hit rate in 2024, and it's continued so far in 2025 with a 27.5% hard-hit rate along with an 86.4 mph AVG EV and 3.3% barrel rate. Albies ranks in the bottom 10% of hitters in AVG EV, barrel rate, and hard-hit rate this season while also having a 15th percentile xSLG and 6th percentile bat speed.

Albies is at least still hitting the ball at ideal angles with a 26.5% Pull-Air rate, but the decreased quality of contact is really limiting him right now. He's still fantasy relevant, but it's tough to trust Albies as your starting second baseman if you're a contending dynasty team.

Royce Lewis, Minnesota Twins

Honestly, I should have moved Royce Lewis even lower than I did in this update, and will definitely be doing so next month unless he turns his season around. With Lewis, durability concerns have always existed, but at least the production had been mostly impactful when he was on the field. That has no longer been the case here in 2025. In 102 plate appearances this season, Lewis has slashed just .187/.275/.264 with one home run, eight RBI, and eight runs scored in 28 games.

Is it worth buying low or investing in Lewis at all anymore? Well, the metrics under the hood aren't terrible. Lewis currently has above-average quality of contact metrics this season with a 10.5% barrel rate, 91 mph AVG EV, and 42.1% hard-hit rate. He's also walking 10.8% of the time with a 14.7% strikeout rate and an above-average 77.4% contact rate.

There aren't any red flags with his offensive metrics, which is why I still have some confidence in Lewis finding his way at the plate eventually. But the downside is that he needs the bat to stand out, as steals are no longer a part of his repertoire.

Can Lewis ever remain healthy enough to provide a positive ROI in any season? This is starting to feel like another Byron Buxton situation. I've never had any shares of Buxton, and I don't plan on having any shares of Lewis any time soon unless the price is dirt cheap or free.
