CFB DFS Rankings - Daily Fantasy College Football for Week 1 (Thursday September 1st))

Brad's CFB DFS rankings for Week 1 on 9/1/22. His daily fantasy college football rankings for QBs, RBs and WRs and the DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel.

We got a small taste of college football last weekend, but now we get into the big slates we are accustomed to in CFB DFS! Week 1 starts Thursday night with a big 11 game slate that features a few one-sided affairs, but also some intuiting match-ups for an early season slate.

As mentioned in the write up for week 0, these teams are getting in their first action of the year so we do not know a lot about most of these teams which does give us a little more inherent risk. Guys will pop up that were not atop their respective depth charts and will blow open the slate. Also be sure to check injury status as that could swing the value of a few players.

Also use week 0 as an example of teams that may not have the name recognition of others, but will provide the value you need to get in some of the top end studs. With big name teams like Tennessee, Oklahoma State and the high-powered offense of Wake Forest on the slate, value will be needed.

CFB DFS Quarterback Rankings

QB GPP Rankings  Per $ QB Cash Rankings  Per $
1 John Rhys Plumlee 1 Hendon Hooker
2 Emory Jones 2 John Rhys Plumlee
3 Hendon Hooker 3 Sean Clifford
4 Jake Haener 4 Jake Haener
5 Rocky Lombardi 5 Mitch Griffis
6 Aidan O'Connell 6 Rocky Lombardi
7 Mitch Griffis 7 Aidan O'Connell
8 Sean Clifford 8 Emory Jones
9 Spencer Sanders 9 Kedon Slovis
10 Tanner Morgan 10 Spencer Sanders

At quarterback, it is a bit difficult to know who will be highly owned after Hendon Hooker. John Rhys Plumlee should be as his running prowess gives him massive upside, but he is not the household name of others yet. It will also be interesting to see how new quarterbacks in Mitch Griffis, Emory Jones and Kedon Slovis do in week 1.

CFB DFS Running Back Rankings

RB GPP Rankings  Per $ RB Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Justice Ellison 1 Dominic Richardson
2 Elijah Young 2 Justice Ellison
3 Jabari Small 3 Mohamed Ibrahim
4 Izzy Abanikanda 4 Elijah Young
5 Trey Potts 5 Jordan Mims
6 Dominic Richardson 6 Jabari Small
7 Lew Nichols III 7 Christian Turner
8 Christian Turner 8 Izzy Abanikanda
9 Carson Steele 9 Xavian Valladay
10 Isaiah Bowser 10 Trey Potts

If you look at the running back rankings you will see a few teammates listed and may wonder why that is. Well Minnesota is somewhere around 38 point favorites this week and could easily get both Ibrahim and Potts to value. Meanwhile, with Sam Hartman out, Wake Forest could lean on their duo at running back to take the pressure off new starter Mitch Griffis.

CFB DFS Wide Receiver Rankings

WR GPP Rankings  Per $ WR Cash Rankings  Per $
1 Konata Mumpfield 1 Cedric Tillman
2 Chris Autman-Bell 2 Jalen Cropper
3 Cedric Tillman 3 Jaden Bray
4 A.T. Perry 4 Chris Autman-Bell
5 Cole Tucker 5 Mitchell Tinsley
6 Jaden Bray 6 Cole Tucker
7 Tyrone Tracy 7 A.T. Perry
8 Bryce Ford-Wheaton 8 Tyrone Tracy
9 Smoke Harris 9 Charlie Jones
10 Shaquan Davis 10 Dylan Wright

If you can afford it, the top of the wide receiver group is easy this week as Cedric Tillman is an absolute stud for Tennessee. However, if you cannot get to him, there are values on the board such as Jaden Bray who seems likely to be the number one wideout at Oklahoma State. Purdue is also an interesting spot as they are missing nearly all of their wide receiver production from last year, so if you want to gamble on a pick, that could be a nice payoff spot.
