Tobias Myers Throws Sim Game, Nearing Rehab Assignment
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Tobias Myers (oblique) completed a 32-pitch simulated game on Sunday. The 26-year-old is slated to face live hitters on Tuesday and would then be set to embark on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville. Adam McCalvy of MLB.com noted that Myers has not felt any discomfort in his oblique. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears he is nearing a return to the big leagues. Myers has been sidelined since March with a left oblique strain. Last season, the 26-year-old made his MLB debut and performed quite well, holding a 3.00 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP across 138 innings of work. He tallied 127 punchouts and held a strong 6.3 percent walk rate. When healthy, he should return to the starting rotation and be a viable option in deeper 12+ team formats. UPDATE: Myers is also scheduled to throw two innings in a sim game on Thursday.
