Jordan Beck Gets Rest Day on Monday
Jordan Beck will receive a rare off day on Monday. Beck is out of the starting lineup after playing in 39 straight games. He'll sit out against the Miami Marlins after going 1-for-19 over his last five games. In his place, Sam Hilliard will cover left field and bat in the leadoff spot against right-hander Max Meyer. The expectation is that Beck will be back in the lineup on Tuesday. His combination of speed and power make him worth a look in most fantasy formats.Source: mlb.com
Colorado Rockies outfielder Paul Blackburn Activated and Starting on Monday
Paul Blackburn (knee) was activated off the 15-day injured list on Monday. As expected, Blackburn will make his season debut after missing the first two months of the season due to right knee inflammation. Blackburn won't get an easy challenge against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday. The 31-year-old made the All-Star team in 2022, but has been more of a back-end starter throughout his career. That being said, Blackburn isn't a recommended streaming option for Monday and will probably only offer deep league value.Source: mlb.com
New York Mets starting pitcher Mookie Betts Remains Out on Monday
Mookie Betts (toe) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the New York Mets. This marks the fourth straight game that Betts has missed due to a fractured toe. It sounds like Betts is doing better and is hopefully going to play on Tuesday. That being said, fantasy managers might only be without Betts for one more game. In the meantime, Hyeseong Kim will cover shortstop and bat ninth versus right-hander Paul Blackburn. The Dodgers are expected to re-evaluate Betts on Tuesday, so fantasy managers should check back for another update. UPDATE: Betts did some running at Dodger Stadium on Monday and is going through defensive drills in hopes of returning for Game 2 of the series versus the Mets on Tuesday.Source: mlb.com
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chase Dollander to Come Off Injured List and Start on Tuesday
Chase Dollander (forearm) said that he will come off the 15-day injured list and start on Tuesday against the Miami Marlins after recovering from right-forearm inflammation. Dollander, the team's top prospect per MLB Pipeline, threw live batting practice last week but didn't go on a minor-league rehab assignment. It means that the 23-year-old will likely be on a short leash in his return to Colorado's starting rotation, and despite the plus matchup against the Fish, Dollander will be a very risky option for fantasy managers in his return. The former ninth overall pick in 2023 out of Tennessee was shaky in his first eight big-league starts before his injury, too, going 2-5 with a 6.28 ERA (6.03 FIP) and 1.42 WHIP with 38 strikeouts and 18 walks in 38 2/3 innings pitched. Miami sits at 19th in the big leagues right now with a .697 team OPS.Source: MLB.com - Thomas Harding
Colorado Rockies right-handed pitching prospect JJ Bleday Rejoining the A's
JJ Bleday from Triple-A Las Vegas ahead of Monday's series opener against the Minnesota Twins, a source tells MLB.com's Martin Gallegos. Bleday returns to the big leagues after making some adjustments at the plate at Triple-A Las Vegas, as he hit .370 (10-for-27) with a home run and a double in six games with the Aviators. It's unclear if Bleday will immediately rejoin the starting lineup for the A's in Monday's series opener against the visiting Twins and right-hander Joe Ryan in Sacramento. The 27-year-old former first-rounder was sent down after a rough start to the 2025 season in which he slashed just .204/.291/.365 with a .656 OPS, six home runs, 18 RBI, 26 runs scored and a steal in 167 at-bats. Outfield prospect Denzel Clarke was recently brought up when Bleday was demoted, but he has gone 5-for-28 with 18 K's in his first nine big-league games.Source: MLB.com - Martin Gallegos
The Athletics are recalling outfielder Cristopher Sanchez Moved Up to Tuesday
Cristopher Sanchez is having his next start moved up from Wednesday to Tuesday's series opener at Rogers Centre against the hosting Toronto Blue Jays with right-hander Zach Wheeler (personal) being skipped this series with his wife scheduled to give birth any day now. It means that Sanchez will get a two-start week and also pitch on Sunday in a plus-plus matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 28-year-old Dominican southpaw has been a great value pick this year for fantasy managers in his fifth year with the Phillies, as he's gone 4-1 with a 3.32 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 70:22 K:BB in 59 2/3 innings over his 11 starts. Sanchez will be facing a Blue Jays offense that ranks 10th in OPS (.723) this year, but he should still be in all starting lineups for both of his start this week with Wheeler away from the team.Source: The Athletic - Matt Gelb
Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Zack Wheeler Won't Pitch in Series Against Toronto
Zack Wheeler (personal) with his wife due to give birth any day now. As a result, the Phils will go with left-hander Cristopher Sanchez on Tuesday, right-handed pitching prospect Mick Abel on Wednesday and left-hander Jesus Luzardo in the series finale on Thursday. It's unclear when the 35-year-old Wheeler will make his 13th start of the season, but it should come at some point this weekend in an excellent matchup against the last-place Pittsburgh Pirates. Wheeler continues to be a must-start in fantasy every time he toes the rubber. The former first-rounder has gone 6-2 with a 2.96 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with 94 strikeouts in 76 innings pitched.Source: The Athletic - Matt Gelb
The Philadelphia Phillies are adjusting their starting rotation this week as they enter a new series in Toronto against the Blue Jays on Tuesday, according to The Athletic's Matt Gelb, and they will skip right-hander Parker Meadows Returns From 60-Day Injured List
Parker Meadows (arm) from the 60-day injured list and optioned infielder/outfielder Justyn-Henry Malloy to Triple-A Toledo after Sunday's game in a corresponding move. To make room on the 40-man roster for Meadows, right-hander Ryan Cusick was designated for assignment. Detroit hasn't released their starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Chicago White Sox, but Meadows should be back in there against right-hander Jonathan Cannon. A never issue in Meadows' arm caused him to miss the first 60 games of the season, but now that he's back, he should be the club's regular center fielder. The 25-year-old left-handed hitter was a difference-maker down the stretch for Detroit last year and hit .244/.310/.433 with nine homers, 28 RBI and nine steals in 82 regular-season games.Source: Tigers PR
The Detroit Tigers announced on Monday that they activated outfielder Christian Yelich Back in Monday's Lineup
Christian Yelich (hand) is back in the team's starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Brady Singer at Great American Ball Park, serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup. X-rays came back negative on Yelich's right hand after he was hit by a pitch on Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies, and he'll be back a day after leaving the game early. Fantasy managers are hoping that his hand injury won't affect the way he's been swinging the bat of late. The 33-year-old former MVP and three-time All-Star is currently riding an eight-game hitting streak in which he's batting .472 (17-for-36) with five home runs, a double, 13 RBI, two steals and 10 runs scored. Yelich needs to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups. In six career at-bats versus Singer, he's hitting .167 with an RBI.Source: MLB.com
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sam Aldegheri Joins Big-League Club
Sam Aldegheri from Double-A Rocket City. Aldegheri, the team's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will make his return to the big leagues after debuting in 2024. The 23-year-old southpaw only made three starts for the Halos last year and allowed 12 runs (seven earned) on 15 hits (two homers allowed) while walking 10 and striking out 10 in 13 innings of work. The Italian hurler gets the call after going 2-2 with a 4.34 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 48:27 K:BB in 47 2/3 innings over his nine starts at Rocket City this year. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder has an intriguing four-pitch mix and has the ability to generate plenty of swings and misses, but he'll need to show much better control of his arsenal to have sustained success in the big leagues. It's unclear what role Aldegheri will have with the Angels now that he's back in the big leagues.Source: Angels PR
The Los Angeles Angels announced on Monday that they recalled left-handed pitching prospect Angels Place Yoan Moncada on 10-Day Injured List With Knee Inflammation
Yoan Moncada (knee) on the 10-day injured list with right-knee inflammation. In other moves, the Angels placed right-handed reliever Robert Stephenson (biceps) on the 15-day IL (retroactive to May 31) with right-biceps inflammation and recalled outfielder Matthew Lugo from Triple-A Salt Lake and left-hander Sam Aldegheri from Double-A Rocket City. Moncada returned on Saturday against the Guardians after missing one game with a sore knee, but he was also out on Sunday and is now back on the IL. The 30-year-old Cuban switch-hitter still has some pop in his bat, but he's completely unreliable in deep fantasy leagues for his inability to stay healthy. With Moncada on the IL again this year, Luis Rengifo will likely see most of the action at the hot corner in Anaheim.Source: Angels PR
The Los Angeles Angels announced on Monday that they placed infielder Konnor Griffin Swipes Four More Bags Over the Weekend
Konnor Griffin continues to get it done at the plate and wreak havoc on the basepaths for Single-A Bradenton. The ninth-overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft went 3-for-6 with three walks in nine plate appearances in two games over the weekend, driving in two runs and scoring twice while stealing four bases. The 19-year-old has eight steals over his last eight games and has tallied 25 steals on the year through 45 games, while getting his slash line to .310/.371/.511. At this rate, High-A should be just around the corner, and the 6-foot-4 slugger looks like he could be a very fast riser through the Pittsburgh system.Source: MiLB.com
Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop/outfield prospect Justin Crawford Drives in Four in Three-Hit Game
Justin Crawford continues to impress at Triple-A, notching his second consecutive three-hit game for Lehigh Valley on Sunday, driving in four runs and scoring twice in the process. The 21-year-old also swiped a bag, the third straight game he's done so. The former first-round draft pick is slashing .338/.407/.438 through 49 games, and although he's got just one home run, the left-handed hitter has 11 doubles and three triples on the season, so the ability to hit for extra bases is in his bat. Perhaps his best tool is his speed, though, now with 20 steals on the season after stealing at least 42 bases in each of the last two campaigns. Crawford could be up in the big leagues by the All-Star break, and fantasy managers in need of some help in the stolen base department should start to consider stashing the Phils' third-ranked prospect, as once he's up, he could be there to stay.Source: MiLB.com
