Brandon Woodruff Hit by Comebacker in Rehab Game, to Undergo X-Rays
Brandon Woodruff (elbow, shoulder) was pulled from his minor-league rehab start on Tuesday with Triple-A Nashville after being hit on the right elbow by a 108.2 mph comebacker with two outs in the second inning, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. Woodruff will return to Milwaukee for X-rays and additional testing on Wednesday, at which point we should know more about the severity of his injury. It's been one thing after another for the 32-year-old as he attempts to return from shoulder surgery in November of 2023. He was nearing a return from his rehab assignment last month before being set back by ankle tendinitis. Depending on the severity of his elbow injury, Woodruff's managers stashing him might have to wait even longer. Woodruff was a fantasy ace before his shoulder surgery, but he missed all of last season.
