There is undeniable upside here, given how he played to end the season and his victory at the Zurich Classic. However, it isn't the same level of pressure as what he'll experience in front of a raucous New York crowd at the most lively event in golf. While not the most efficient driver of the golf ball, he has overcome that shortcoming with a sound short game and putting ability. The 29-year-old ranked 21st in strokes gained tee to green (+0.749) this season, while also achieving a 22nd rank in strokes gained putting (+0.361). Assuming the quality of play doesn't diminish before the tees go in the ground, he makes for an unassuming dark horse for a USA squad looking for their next group of torch bearers.--Todd McGill
