In his only previous Cup race at Nashville, Smith started 36th and then placed second for his best career Cup finish to date. Smith also has three top-5 finishes in three Truck Series races completed at Nashville. After 13 races so far in 2025, Smith has eight top-20 finishes and an average finish of 20.4. In practice for this week's race, Smith ranked 18th in five consecutive lap averages and 13th in overall lap averages.
