Ezequiel Tovar Out Until at Least Friday
Ezequiel Tovar (oblique) is out of the lineup on Tuesday against the Miami marlins and will also be out in Wednesday's series finale with a left-oblique injury that he suffered in Monday night's win, according to MLB.com's Thomas Harding. The Rockies are off on Thursday, so Tovar's next chance to return to the lineup will be for Friday's series opener at Coors Field against the New York Mets. Colorado said they pulled the 23-year-old as a precaution from Monday's game with a left-side issue, but now that we know it's an oblique pull, it could very well end up landing him on the 10-day injured list. Veteran Orlando Arcia is starting at shortstop on Tuesday and could take over at the 6 if Tovar misses extended time. Tovar has been a disappointment for his fantasy managers through 128 at-bats, hitting .258 with only three home runs, 10 RBI, 14 runs scored and two stolen bases.
