Roman Anthony Will Undergo MRI on Wednesday
Roman Anthony (oblique) was removed from Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians with left oblique tightness, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports. He is set to undergo an MRI on Wednesday. Anthony said he initially felt tightness on a check swing during the same at-bat before striking out in the fourth inning, and he proceeded not to take the field in the fifth. "He's sore," manager Alex Cora said. When asked about his concern level, Anthony replied, "I'm not really sure. I'll see tomorrow, after the MRI." At this time, Anthony should be considered day-to-day, and fantasy managers will want to keep their eyes open for the MRI results. Timing couldn't be worse for fantasy managers with the fantasy playoffs going on, and the Red Sox, as they are in a tight AL East and AL Wild Card race. Nate Eaton entered the game for Anthony and could see additional playing time should he miss any extra time.
