Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Done for the Year With Torn ACL
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (knee) on the 10-day injured list with a tear in his right ACL and recalled infielder Connor Kaiser from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move. Gurriel suffered the season-ending injury in Monday's loss to the Texas Rangers while trying to avoid crashing into teammate Blaze Alexander in the outfield. It's a tough break for the 31-year-old veteran, who will finish the 2025 season with a .248/.295/.418 slash line, .713 OPS, 19 home runs, 80 RBI, 52 runs scored and a career-high 10 stolen bases in 129 games in his third year with the team. Although he is unlikely to be ready for the start of the 2026 season, Gurriel will most likely exercise his $13 million player option. Jake McCarthy is likely to benefit the most to close out the regular season in left field for the Snakes with Gurriel now done.
