Although it was unclear whether Denny Hamlin would start Sunday's Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway, he ran the entire race and was one of the leading contenders for the win. After starting second, Hamlin trailed his teammate Chase Briscoe for most of the first stage before passing him on Lap 83 for the stage win. He dominated most of Stage 2 until William Byron and eventual winner Ryan Blaney both caught him for the lead. Byron and Hamlin traded the lead on Laps 167 and 168 before Blaney pulled off a gallant three-wide pass for the lead to ultimately take the Stage 2 win. Hamlin eventually finished third after Carson Hocevar surprisingly beat him out of the pits, but Hamlin did reduce his points deficit to Byron for the regular-season championship by five points to 104, and he overtook Chase Elliott and Tyler Reddick for fourth in the points standings.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
