Gary Woodland Eyeing Strong Finish to Reach Playoffs
Gary Woodland has had a decent season with six top-25 finishes and six missed cuts in 19 events this year. He currently sits 75th in the FedEx Cup standings and will require a solo 25th-place finish or better at the Wyndham Championship to qualify for the playoffs. To do that, Woodland will need to be accurate from tee to green and convert his birdie chances. He ranks 77th in total strokes gained at plus-0.270, 62nd in greens in regulation, and is in the 81st percentile in proximity from 150 to 200 yards -- a range that accounted for over 40% of approach shots here last year. However, Woodland has struggled with consistency, ranking just 116th in driving accuracy and 147th in birdie or better percentage. At $7,000 on DraftKings, Woodland has decent upside but will need to play aggressively to secure his spot in next week's playoffs.
