LJ Martin Expected to Play in Top-10 Matchup Against Texas Tech
BYU running back LJ Martin (upper body) practiced well on Monday and is in line to play against No. 9 Texas Tech this Saturday, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The junior ball carrier appeared to have suffered an upper-body injury in the Week 9 win over Iowa State, but looks to be ready to go after the Week 10 bye. Martin has been excellent for the Cougars this season, rushing 132 times for 789 yards and five touchdowns. He's added 11 receptions for 82 yards. Statistically, the Red Raiders have been the best rushing defense in the Big 12, allowing just 74.6 yards on the ground per game. Martin's productivity in this spot could determine whether BYU can pull off the road upset.
