Tyler Kleven Inks Two-Year Extension with Senators
Ottawa Senators defenseman Tyler Kleven has come to terms on a two-year, $3.2 million contract extension with the team. He was set to become a restricted free agent before the deal was announced. Kleven had his rookie campaign with the Senators in 2024-25, recording 10 points (four goals, six assists), 78 shots, 97 blocks, and 105 hits in 79 outings. The 23-year-old contributed a couple of assists in six games during the playoffs. "Tyler continued to elevate his game in his first NHL season, which was a good sign," Senators general manager Steve Staios said in a statement. "We expect his game will continue to develop." Ottawa is pleased with Kleven's progress, but the former second-round pick lacks fantasy appeal due to his offensive limitations.
