Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson had a rollercoaster day during Sunday's Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. Starting the race from the 28th position, Larson tried to make up ground right at the beginning of the race, making it up to 23rd by lap 3, but then he got tapped by Zane Smith, went loose, and fell back to the tail end of the field. Larson tried to make use of pit strategy to make up ground, but only made up a few spots as by the end of the first stage, he placed 27th, scored no stage points, and was nearly lapped in the process by Denny Hamlin. In the second stage, Larson was mostly quiet outside of barely getting caught in a lap 114 incident with teammate Alex Bowman and Noah Gragson. Larson did escape the incident with little damage, but still struggled to make it through the pack as he ended stage two in 21st and scored no stage points. In the final stage, Larson's team made effective use of pit strategy and improved the car, finally allowing him to make moves and get through the pack to crack the top 10 by the end of the race. Larson ended up finishing eighth, continuing a perfect streak of placing in the top 10 in every Nashville Cup race.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
