2 years agoThe San Diego Padres and Miami Marlins are among the teams looking at free-agent starting pitcher Johnny Cueto, who pitched very well for the Chicago White Sox in 2022. Cueto went 8-10 with a 3.35 ERA (3.79 FIP), a 1.22 WHIP and a career-low 15.7 percent strikeout rate in 25 appearances (24 starts) over 158 1/3 innings pitched, and he's now attracting interest as a veteran arm for the back end of a rotation. He's heading into his age-37 season and doesn't have much fantasy upside left, but he's more attractive in real life as a rotation option and innings-eater. The Cincinnati Reds have also been connected to the two-time All-Star as he heads into his 15th major-league campaign.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
