Mets Recall Brett Baty From Triple-A
Brett Baty from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday before their series opener in the desert against the hosting Arizona Diamondbacks. The Mets optioned Baty to Syracuse on April 24, but only because of a roster crunch upon Jeff McNeil's return from the injured list. The 25-year-old had been dealing with a sore right toe in recent days, but it wasn't severe enough to prevent his call-up. Baty had three hits in his 10 at-bats with Syracuse and will return to a .204/.246/.352 slash line in the big leagues with a homer, four RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base. The former top prospect just hasn't been able to put it all together at the big-league level since debuting in 2022, and he'll serve as infield depth at both second and third base behind McNeill and Mark Vientos. Baty can be ignored in most mixed fantasy leagues.
