Braxton Garrett Throws Two Innings
9 months agoMiami Marlins left-hander Braxton Garrett (shoulder) threw two innings in extended spring training on Thursday and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session in Miami on Sunday. Garrett was forced to start the season on the injured list due to a left-shoulder impingement that he suffered during spring training. However, he's working his way back and should be able to make his 2024 debut for the Marlins before the end of April, barring any setbacks. The 26-year-old southpaw had a 3.66 ERA in 159 2/3 innings in his first full season in Miami's starting rotation, giving him plenty of upside in mixed leagues if he can just stay healthy. The former seventh overall pick by the Fish in 2016 has a wipeout slider that generates a lot of swings and misses.
