FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (5/15/17): MLB DFS Advice

We have a seven game slate tonight, and the pitching doesn't look that great. There are no pitchers over $9k, and no true aces on the mound. This leaves you plenty of options for hitters, and you will be able to get plenty of bats into one lineup. Could be a good day for some GPPs, since pitching is weak. So sit back, read up, and let's win some contests.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/15/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options, and of course, value plays.

You can read our DraftKings and Yahoo DFS lineup picks as well. If you want to contact me, send me a message on Twitter at @DFS_Tom.

Offensive Stacks

Los Angeles Angels vs Mike Pelfrey

Listen, Mike Pelfrey isn't a good pitcher. He has four starts this year, and none of them went well. He hasn't pitched more than 5.1 innings in any start, and he has given up 20 HITS in his four starts. Really rough numbers to go along with the fact he only has six total strikeouts this season. The man simply cannot get batters out, and this is the spot you want to stack against him. The late games, generally have lower ownership, so this is a great spot to load up some Angles players.

Also consider: Los Angeles Dodgers vs Matt Cain

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Brandon McCarthy - P, @ SFG ($8,700)

McCarthy is the highest priced pitcher on the slate, and that is saying something. The pitching on this slate is very weak, but we have to work with it. McCarthy is at San Francisco, which is a great pitchers park, so he has that going for him. He does also have six or more strikeouts in two of his last three starts. He is coming off a rough start, and this is the spot to rebound against the Giants who have scored the second least runs in the majors this year. McCarthy has a 1.06 WHIP this season, which is super strong and has three quality starts in his five outings. Getting the extra points for a quality start is always nice on Fanduel, so he looks like the best option tonight.

Jesse Chavez - P, vs CHW ($7,200)

As I mentioned, pitching is weak on this slate, but this could be the time for some GPP plays. Chavez is pitching at home, which is a favorable park for pitchers, and he is up against a high strikeout team. The White Sox have a 23% strikeout rate versus right-handed pitching this year. That is sixth worst in the league, and something Chavez could capitalize on. Chavez has five or more strikeouts in four of his seven starts. Those numbers won't blow you away, but the upside comes from facing a strikeout heavy team.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Yasmani Grandal - C, @ SFG ($2,900)

Grandal is always one of the better options at a weak catcher position. Plenty of consistency, and a great cash option, almost every night. He has a .394 wOBA and a .216 ISO versus right-handed pitching, so this is a really nice match up for him, and he should be putting up the points you need. Not really a stack option, since its a bad hitters park, but great as a one off for a GPP.

Freddie Freeman - 1B, @ TOR ($4,900)

Free money Freddy is one of the best first basemen options this season, and tonight is no different. He is at Toronto, which is a solid hitters park and a super favorable match up. He has a .494 wOBA and a .408 ISO versus right-handed pitchers. Monster numbers to start the season, and anytime you can fit him into your lineup, you should lock him in.

Jose Altuve - 2B, @ ATL ($3,900)

Altuve is a great option tonight at second base, and he is usable in cash or in a stack. The Astros have one of the best offenses in the league this year, and he is always in the middle of it. He has a .347 wOBA versus right-handed pitchers. Good upside from him from stolen bases.

Travis Shaw - 3B, vs SDP ($3,800)

Shaw is putting up some big offensive numbers to start the season, 8 HR and 31 RBI. He is at the Padres which is a good pitchers park, but this is the time that the Brewers could be lower owned in tournaments. Shaw has a .368 wOBA and a .278 ISO versus right-handed pitching.

Corey Seager - SS, @ SFG ($3,600)

Seager's price seems a bit too cheap tonight, and this is the perfect spot to roster him. He has a .397 wOBA and a 167 wRC+ versus right-handed pitching. Really great numbers, and even though he is in a pitchers park, still a great option. He has 4 RBI over his last three games, and seems to be ready to break out.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Jay Bruce - OF, @ ARI ($4,000)

Mets are looking like one of the best offenses on the board tonight, and if you are stacking them, include Bruce. They are at a super favorable park for hitters, and he has a .446 wOBA, along with a .361 ISO versus right-handed pitchers. Those are some monster numbers to start the season, and he is in the perfect spot to hit a home run tonight.

Nelson Cruz - OF, vs OAK ($4,900)

Cruz is an expensive option tonight, and there is good reason. He has a .419 wOBA vs left-handed pitching, along with a .931 OPS. He is mashing the ball and getting on base in all sorts of ways. Best part of his match up tonight, is that he only has an 11% strikeout rate vs LHP, so plenty of chances to put up points.

Avisail Garcia - OF, @ LAA ($3,400)

Garcia is quietly one one of the best hitters to start the season, and is at a .344 AVG. He is certainly playing well and this match up is great. He has a .484 wOBA and a .212 ISO versus right-handed pitching. Really strong numbers, and despite this being at pitchers park, he is still in a great spot to put up points.
