Week 13 Kicker Streamers and Starts – 2021 Fantasy Tiers, Rankings

jake elliott fantasy football kicker rankings news NFL DFS lineup picks

Robert Lorge breaks down all 2021 fantasy football Week 13 kickers -- streamers, starts, sits, targets, avoids, and waiver wire pickups. His Week 13 rankings and tiers for all of the NFL kickers.

There is always a player at every position who seems to come out of nowhere. Last year, it was James Robinson at running back and Logan Thomas at tight end. This happens every year, like clockwork. This year, we have Deebo Samuel at wide receiver.......and Nick Folk at kicker. He has been absolutely phenomenal. How great has he been? He is the only kicker averaging double-digits per game this year. He has 30 more points scored than Justin Tucker, who is second. If any fantasy manager picked him up weeks ago, it's been a massive steal.

Folk has been perfect on all 26 of his field goals under 49 yards. There is only one other kicker who can say they are 100% on such field goals and that is Zane Gonzalez, who has kicked for multiple teams this season. However, he has only 17 such kicks, which just speaks to how excellent Folk has been this season.

Folk hasn't been quite as good from 50+ where he's made five out of his eight attempts. The best kicker from that range is Evan McPherson of the Bengals. He's made seven out of eight – no one has made more. As far as extra points go, Ryan Succop is the leader thus far with 41 made. No one else has more than 37. There are only six kickers who have made 100% of their extra points. That includes Tyler Bass, Jake Elliott, Robbie Gould, Justin Tucker, Younghoe Koo, and Graham Gano. Now, onto Week 13.

Kicker Streamers to Target for Week 13

Jake Elliott, Philadelphia Eagles

Despite his dud in Week 12, I'm going right back to him this week against the Jets. Elliott has been fantastic recently, last week aside. From Weeks 8–11, there's been no kicker who has scored more points than Elliott and it's not even close. He had 55 points during that span – the next closest was Nick Folk with 46. No one could have expected the Eagles to struggle as much as they did last week against the Giants, except to say that NFC East divisional games can just be weird. Their Week 13 opponent is not a divisional foe. In fact, their Week 13 opponent allows the most points to opposing kickers on the season at 11.2 points per game. Fantasy managers should have every confidence firing Elliott back up in Week 13. If there's one thing to pay attention to, it is the health of Jalen Hurts, who tweaked his ankle. If he's out, that would lower Elliott's ceiling. Now that we're moving into the month of December, fantasy managers should start paying attention to the weather, which could be another factor that could lower Elliott's ceiling, but as of right now, there's a ton to like about streaming Jake Elliott.

Robbie Gould, San Francisco 49ers

Gould missed four games in the middle of the season due to injury, but he's been great when he's been healthy. In terms of points per game, he's 10th among all kickers with an 8.7 per game average. He's averaged 11 points per game over the last three weeks and fantasy managers should expect the good times to keep rolling. The 49ers' offense has been rolling as of late, scoring 95 points over the last three contests. Their Week 13 opponent, the Seattle Seahawks, has one of the most bend-but-don't-break defenses in the NFL. There is no other team in the league allowing more yards per game and yet they've allowed the seventh-fewest points per game. If nothing else, this should tell fantasy managers to expect the 49ers to be able to move the ball down the field and get into scoring range before the Seahawks' defense tightens up.

Evan McPherson, Cincinnati Bengals

McPherson is one of my favorite streamers of the week. There's a ton to love with this matchup. For starters, the game has a high implied point total of 50.5 points, which suggests fantasy managers can expect some points to be scored. The Bengals' opponent in Week 13 is the Los Angeles Chargers, who have allowed the fifth-most points to opposing kickers at 10 points per game. The Chargers have given up 26.6 points per game to the opposition, which is fifth-most in the NFL. This game has the look of a shootout and fantasy managers should want every piece of this one.

Kicker Busts to Avoid for Week 13

Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers

Boswell has been terrific this season. He's currently the fourth-highest scoring kicker on the season so to put him in the bust category is not done lightly, but there's a lot to be concerned about here. First off is the dreaded divisional matchup between two teams who have regularly employed excellent defenses. The implied point total of just 44 is another cause for concern. Another one is the weather. Fantasy managers should expect cold weather in Baltimore in December. The Ravens' defense has only given up 6.2 points per game to opposing kickers, which is the third-fewest in the NFL. It's a difficult matchup for kickers, and when you combine that with the low implied point total and outdoor divisional game, fantasy managers should be cautious.

Brandon McManus, Denver Broncos

The Kansas City Chiefs' defense was awful to start the season, but over the past four weeks, they seem to have turned a corner. They've only given up 47 points over that time span and they seem to be finding their groove. The Chiefs are at home in Week 13 after a bye week, so they'll be well-rested and ready to go. The Chiefs have also been very difficult on fantasy kickers, giving up the eighth-fewest points in the NFL through 12 weeks at just 6.6 points per game. Another thing that could hold back the Broncos' offense is the health of quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. He left Week 12 briefly with a leg injury but was able to return. If he's not 100% or worse, and Drew Lock has to start, the offense will be negatively impacted.
