Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 4:
Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota will start in Week 4's matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. With starting quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow) ruled out for Sunday's game, Mariota will start again, as Daniels has time to recover before the bye week. In his start last week against the Seattle Seahawks, Mariota completed 19 of 31 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Commanders to a win over the defending champions.
The former second-overall pick has produced as the starter when Daniels has been sidelined, averaging 17.4 fantasy points per game in starts over the past two seasons. Fantasy managers should consider Mariota a high-end QB2 in an ideal matchup, as the Colts are struggling to stop the pass.
Geno Smith, New York Jets
New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has emerged as one of the most appealing waiver wire options heading into Week 4 of the NFL season. In a somewhat shocking turn of events, Smith racked up 321 passing yards and three passing touchdowns on Sunday, becoming the 15th-highest-scoring quarterback in fantasy football this year. This is a huge feat on its own, but it's even more impressive when you consider that Smith didn't have one of his favorite targets, Adonai Mitchell (finger).
Maybe Smith won't rack up three touchdowns every game going forward, but he at least proved that he's capable of producing meaningful fantasy value while keeping the Jets in competitive games. The veteran quarterback could find himself in another high-scoring game against the Bears next week, vaulting him to the mid-range QB2 territory and making him one of the top quarterbacks to target on waivers.
Drake Maye, New England Patriots
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye (shoulder) popped up on the injury report this week, listed as a full participant despite a right shoulder concern, and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels told reporters on Thursday that he believes the throwing shoulder "got dinged" in the team's Week 3 loss to the Jaguars.
McDaniels added that any ailment has not affected Maye or his own play calling. After finishing as the QB2 in 2025, Maye has been one of the biggest disappointments of 2026, throwing six interceptions to only one touchdown, though his struggles appear to stem more from poor decision-making than any physical setbacks. Maye faces his most fantasy-friendly opponent of the season in a divisional matchup with the Bills, but having proven difficult to trust early in the year, he is RotoBaller's QB20 on the week.
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence had a solid fantasy output in a 35-6 victory over the New England Patriots. Lawrence didn't have a showstopping day by any means, but the Patriots offense struggled with turnovers, giving the Jaguars good field position often. That allowed the Jaguars offense to score quickly without needing to gain much in yardage. That is shown by Lawrence's final stat line of 182 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception on 19 completions.
He also added 25 rushing yards. Lawrence now has two efficient performances and one poor performance through three weeks. He will look to continue his efficiency in Week 4 against what should be a vulnerable Cincinnati Bengals secondary.
Kyler Murray, Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray (concussion) returned to action in Week 3 and completed 15 out of 29 passes (51.7%) for 168 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a 23-16 win over the Buccaneers. He added 17 rushing yards on two carries. He has totaled just 10 fantasy points in standard scoring leagues thus far, according to RotoBaller. Murray suffered a concussion in the first quarter of a Week 1 victory over the Green Bay Packers and was forced to sit out a Week 2 win against the Chicago Bears.
Murray might have an easier time against a Miami Dolphins defense in Week 4 that is allowing 231 passing yards per game (20th in the NFL) and 9.1 yards per attempt (worst in the league), but coming off of an injury and putting up pedestrian numbers, Murray is hard to start right now. Murray's top wide receiver, Justin Jefferson (ankle), is also nursing an ankle injury and did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. Murray is RotoBaller's No. 13 quarterback for Week 4.
