Kerry Carpenter Returns to Tigers Lineup on Sunday
Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (shoulder) will make his return to the big leagues for his team's Sunday matchup against the Chicago White Sox. Carpenter has been on the injured list since early May due to an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder. Before the injury, the 28-year-old hit .216/.299/.451 with six home runs, 17 RBI, and 11 runs scored. While Carpenter's numbers were down from his strong 2025 stat line, his 10.9% barrel rate and 50% hard-hit rate still hint at significant power upside. Now that he's back in the lineup, Carpenter will likely slide into a big-side platoon role at designated hitter and in the corner outfield spots for Detroit. As long as he doesn't suffer any lingering effects from his shoulder injury, Carpenter could be a solid waiver wire target for fantasy managers.
