New York Rangers forward J.T. Miller (upper body) returned to practice on Friday. The Rangers captain skated in a non-contact jersey. Miller appeared to hurt his left leg during Monday's practice. His return to the ice on Friday is a positive sign that Miller is heading in the right direction and can get healthy in time for opening night on Oct. 7 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Miller is expected to kick off the campaign as the second-line center, skating between Mika Zibanejad and Will Cuylle. Miller and Zibanejad formed a prolific partnership during the final stretch of last season and will aim to build on it in 2025-26.--Taavi Pailk
