The Detroit Tigers announced on Friday that they placed infielder Colt Keith (rib cage) on the 10-day injured list with right rib-cage inflammation and recalled infielder Jace Jung from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move. The Tigers initially announced that Keith left Thursday's game against the Cleveland Guardians with a back injury. The 24-year-old does not have any structural damage, but he's going to miss the rest of the regular season. They will be hoping that he can rejoin the team for the playoffs, and it will help if Detroit is able to secure a first-round bye. Keith has been a lineup regular for the first-place Tigers this year and will end his 2025 season by hitting .256 (106-for-414) with 13 home runs, 45 RBI, and 65 runs in 137 games. Zach McKinstry will be the team's primary option at third with Keith out.--Keith Hernandez
