Edmonton Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm (undisclosed) might be ready to rejoin the lineup when the team makes it past the Vegas Golden Knights into the Western Conference Finals. "Mattias has been on the ice for light skates," Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch said Tuesday. "He will not be joining us this series. We're hopeful that he can join us next series if we can get to that." The Swedish veteran has played in only one game since March 26, missing time due to an undisclosed injury. The Oilers have enjoyed a good postseason run without him and need only one more victory to defeat the Golden Knights, but Ekholm would add a lot to the team. He finished the regular season with 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists), 143 shots, and 92 blocks in 65 games, averaging 22:12 of ice time.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
