Josh Berry qualified 32nd for this weekend's NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma. He has only made one Cup Series start on a road course thus far at COTA and he ran poorly, starting 31st, finishing 35th, and scoring his second-worst driver rating of the season in that event. He only made one Sonoma start in the Xfinity Series last year, where he started 19th, finished 33rd, and posted his worst driver rating of 2023. With four top fives and nine top 10s in fifteen road course starts in the Xfinity Series, Berry actually has a higher average finish on them than on any other track type, but he also only led seven laps and has been much less likely to fight for the lead on them. Couple that with his relative inexperience with the Next Gen chassis, and Berry likely seems doomed to a poor result.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
