Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 4:
Pat Bryant, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant is worth a look in deeper leagues after making two big plays in Sunday night's 30-26 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Bryant caught both of his targets for 44 yards and his first touchdown of the season, then added a two-point conversion later in the second half. His 39-yard catch also helped Denver move into Rams territory on the final go-ahead drive.
The production was useful, but the volume is still the concern. Bryant has only six receptions for 86 yards through three games, and he was not heavily targeted Sunday. RotoBaller's overall Week 4 waiver rankings place him at No. 40 and recommend him for 14-team leagues. That makes Bryant more of a deeper-league stash than a priority claim in standard 10- or 12-team formats right now, with room for the role to grow if his involvement increases.
Emmett Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs rookie running back Emmett Johnson will face the Las Vegas Raiders on the road in Week 4. The 22-year-old has been electrifying in his limited touches behind starter Kenneth Walker, placing among the league's best in forced missed tackles per attempt. Despite not catching a single pass in last week's contest, Johnson has been particularly efficient as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
The rookie will now get to face the tough Raiders defense in an AFC West matchup this Sunday. Despite his success, Johnson's fantasy value is ultimately tied to the health of Walker. As long as Walker remains healthy, Johnson will remain in a secondary role. Johnson will look to make the most of his touches against a tough Raiders defense.
The Raiders have been a turnover machine in the first three weeks, racking up four interceptions and five recovered fumbles, which is a testament to the strength and aggressiveness of the unit. Johnson is ranked RB43 in our RotoBaller Week 4 PPR rankings, making him a deep league flex option for those struggling with running back injuries this week.
Justice Hill, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens running back Justice Hill was able to find success on the ground during the Week 3 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. He carried the ball five times for 33 yards in the victory over the Cowboys. He averaged 6.6 yards per carry, which is encouraging to see from the veteran back. Overall, Hill is going to have his fantasy value capped as the backup to Derrick Henry.
He could see more carries if he continues rushing as he did during Sunday's game. However, the 28-year-old is unlikely to have standalone value moving forward. He could be worth stashing in case Henry goes down at some point.
Isaiah Davis, New York Jets
New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis is expected to take on a larger offensive role as the team prepares to use a committee in the backfield. Head coach Aaron Glenn said Wednesday that he is comfortable with any of his running backs handling the work and specifically confirmed that Davis will see more of the offense. Braelon Allen should also be heavily involved if Breece Hall remains sidelined.
Davis hasn't recorded an offensive touch through three games, but he has averaged 5.6 yards per carry over his first two NFL seasons while adding 30 catches for 261 yards and a touchdown. The Jets have wanted to use multiple backs under Glenn, and Davis could finally get his first extended opportunity on Sunday against Chicago.
Kaleb Johnson, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers running back Kaleb Johnson is starting to carve out a larger role, but he remains a deeper-league stash heading into Week 4. Johnson carried four times for six yards and caught one pass for 10 yards in Thursday's loss to Atlanta after rushing eight times for 32 yards in Week 2. The more interesting development is the backfield rotation. Johnson played 22 offensive snaps against the Falcons, ahead of MarShawn Lloyd's 15, while Chris Brooks still led the group with 26.
Johnson did not play an offensive snap in Week 1, so his role is clearly moving in the right direction, even if Green Bay is still using multiple backs. RotoBaller has Johnson 46th overall on its Week 4 waiver board, at 6% rostered, with a recommendation for 14-team leagues. He is worth stashing in deeper formats, but managers in standard 10- or 12-team leagues do not need to force the pickup yet.
