Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs (knee) will begin the season on the 53-man roster, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. One of the best tackles in the game, Wirfs is recovering from knee surgery and likely will be on a similar track to return as receiver Chris Godwin (ankle), Bowles said. That means the Iowa product likely won't play immediately this season, but is eligible to return to practice and does not have to miss a mandated four games now that he has been activated from the physically unable to perform list.
