Ross Stripling Dealing With Grade 1 Back Strain
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Ross Stripling (back) left his May 17 start against the Philadelphia Phillies with lower-back tightness, and an MRI exam showed a Grade 1 strain, which forced him to the 15-day injured list on May 19. Stripling was expected to rest over the weekend before being re-evaluated after that. He stayed back in San Francisco to rehab while the team started a road trip this week. The 33-year-old right-hander will be eligible to return to San Fran's starting rotation in early June, but he hasn't been much of an option in fantasy so far this year and he could end up being moved to the bullpen. Through his first nine outings (five starts), Stripling has a 7.24 ERA (6.72 FIP), 1.58 WHIP, 10 walks and 26 strikeouts in 32 1/3 innings pitched.
