Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner has dropped 10 pounds during the offseason and is eager to improve his stats from last year. "It's giving me a real opportunity to kick some butt and make sure those numbers are (better)," Skinner told reporters in training camp. The Edmonton-born netminder posted a 26-18-4 record last season with 2.81 goals allowed, a .896 save percentage, and three shutouts. He had a hot stretch during the playoffs, helping the Oilers back to the Stanley Cup Finals for a second consecutive year, but Skinner's save percentage remained at a lowly .889. Skinner admitted that he lost weight for his health and longevity, but he also said that he feels a little quicker. This could make a difference in his numbers this season.--Taavi Pailk
