Ron Rivera To Interview For Cowboys Defensive-Coordinator Position
11 months agoFormer Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera will interview with the Dallas Cowboys for their defensive-coordinator vacancy next week, according to a person with knowledge of the team's meetings. The Cowboys lost Dan Quinn, their defensive coordinator the last three seasons, as he was named the Commanders' next head coach on Thursday. Quinn took passing-game coordinator and linebackers coach Joe Whitt Jr. with him, so the Cowboys have several defensive coaching positions to fill this offseason. In-house candidates for Dallas' defensive-coordinator job include secondary coach Al Harris and defensive line coach Aden Durde. In addition to Rivera, the Cowboys could consider former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley, and potentially even former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick for the job.
