Jake Matthews suffered a third-round submission loss to Neil Magny on the main card of UFC Perth on Saturday. There was plenty of controversy during this bout. A second before the end of the first round, it appeared that Matthews had put Magny to sleep with a guillotine choke, so the referee stopped the fight. Magny protested the stoppage, and soon after, the referee gave the signal to continue the fight. After dominating Magny for nearly three rounds, Magny sank in a D'Arce choke from half guard, submitting Matthews. In 13:08 of action, Matthews landed 18 significant strikes. --Alen Kurbasic
