Alex Vlasic Hurt on Sunday
Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Alex Vlasic (lower body) was injured in Sunday's preseason game against the Minnesota Wild and is considered day-to-day. With only a week left of the preseason, the injury came at a bad time for Vlasic, but initial signs suggest that he can get healthy for the start of the regular season. Chicago begins the action on Oct. 7 against the Florida Panthers. Vlasic had his sophomore campaign in the NHL last season, finishing as the Blackhawks' highest-scoring defenseman. He put up 30 points (four goals, 26 assists) in 82 contests. Vlasic also racked up 157 blocks, ranking second on the team.
