Petr Mrazek Goes Down With Another Groin Injury
2 years agoChicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek saw his bad luck with groin injuries continue on Tuesday against Boston, as he was forced to exit the game in the second period. The Czech netminder had a great time against the league leaders, saving all 16 shots he faced, but his night turned sour with the injury. Luckily, Chicago head coach Luke Richardson suggested after the game that the injury is not as severe as Mrazek's prior groin issues. However, he added that Mrazek likely won't join the team for the start of its five-game road trip that kicks off in Nashville Thursday. Mrazek has struggled with injuries and form all season long, going 8-19-3 with a 3.63 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage. Alex Stalock, who came in as relief Tuesday and helped the team to a very impressive 6-3 victory, has done much better and should now get more opportunities to play.
