Colorado Avalanche goaltender Pavel Francouz (groin) has been officially ruled out for the start of the season. The Czech netminder underwent adductor surgery in the offseason and still needs time to heal. Francouz had a solid year behind Alexandar Georgiev last season, finishing 8-7-1 in 16 appearances and having a 2.61 goals-against average with a .915 save percentage and one shutout. With Francouz out, Justus Annunen is set to fill backup duties early in the season.
