Tyler Warren Getting Rushing Work in Practice
Tyler Warren took simulated handoffs from the fullback spot during positional drills at the team's Tuesday practice, according to Noah Compton of The Blue Stable Podcast. In his final collegiate season at Penn State, Warren recorded 26 carries for 218 yards and four touchdowns. His primary impact was as a receiver (104 catches for 1,233 yards), and that should continue in the NFL, but it's noteworthy that the Colts coaching staff is open to using Warren out of the backfield. Given that Indianapolis used their first-round selection in this year's draft on Warren, he should be a significant part of their offensive plan of attack. He profiles as a low-end TE1 for re-draft fantasy leagues in 2025, but that could change if he gets real work as a rusher, particularly around the goal line.Source: The Blue Stable Podcast - Noah Compton

Patrick Baldwin Jr. Waived by Clippers
Patrick Baldwin Jr. on Monday. Baldwin joined the Clippers after agreeing to a two-way contract in March. However, he was released to open a roster spot for Jordan Miller, who signed a two-way deal with the Clippers on Saturday. Baldwin played in 22 games with the Wizards and just two in Los Angeles after he was claimed off waivers near the end of the 2024-25 campaign. He saw limited playing time in the NBA last year, but the 22-year-old had a solid season in the G League, averaging 17.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 three-pointers, 2.4 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.0 steals during 32.0 minutes per game in over 23 appearances.Source: Law Murray

Josh Green May Not be Ready for Start of Hornets Training Camp
Josh Green (shoulder) may not be ready for the start of training camp. Green is still recovering from shoulder surgery last month to address instability in his left shoulder. According to Boone, there is "no definitive work on his recovery timetable," likely meaning that the 24-year-old could be missing in action once the upcoming regular season begins. During his first campaign in Charlotte, he finished with averages of 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest across 68 games. Once Green is available, he may be less involved in the Hornets' offence than in 2024-25, especially if LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Brandon Miller (wrist) can remain healthy.Source: Roderick Boone

Jacory Croskey-Merritt Getting Work With First-Team Offense
Jacory Croskey-Merritt is getting reps with quarterback Jayden Daniels and the first-team offense in the no-huddle session during Tuesday's training camp practice. It's something worth watching for the 245th overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft back in April. The 24-year-old had 1,190 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2023 at New Mexico but then ran into eligibility issues in 2024 after transferring to Arizona and played in one game. It's the reason why he fell to the final round of the draft, although he does have some intrigue as a between-the-tackles bruiser. As long as Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr. are healthy, Croskey-Merritt figures to compete the No. 3 change-of-pace role with Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues can likely ignore him.Source: Couch GM

Travis Etienne Jr. the Focus of the Day on Tuesday
Travis Etienne Jr. was seemingly the focus of the day in the backfield on Tuesday, getting plenty of work and busting a few impressive runs, according to SI.com's John Shipley. Meanwhile, Shipley says that fellow RB Tank Bigsby continued his strong training camp and made it to the second level of the defense a few times. Most folks are expecting Bigsby to take over Jacksonville's backfield in 2025 after running for a career-low 558 yards and two touchdowns in 15 starts in 2024 after going over the 1,000-yard rushing mark in his first two seasons. That could very well be the case, but Etienne also isn't going away anytime soon as long as he remains with the Jags. The former first-rounder should be a better scheme fit in head coach Liam Coen's offense, but the presence of Bigsby also probably caps his fantasy upside as an RB3/flex.Source: SI.com - John Shipley
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Jets Sign Nick Folk
Nick Folk to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday, according to head coach Aaron Glenn. The Jets waived kicker Caden Davis on Tuesday, so Folk's primary competition for the kicking job in New York will be UFL standout Harrison Mevis. The 40-year-old Folk will reunite with the Jets after kicking for them from 2010 to 2016. He spent the last two years with the Tennessee Titans and went 21-for-22 on his field-goal tries while making all 25 of his extra-point attempts in 14 games in 2024. As long as Folk doesn't really struggle or get injured in training camp and the preseason in his return to the Jets, he should be the favorite to win the job over Mevis. Heading into his 18th NFL season, Folk has a career 84.3% success rate on 479 field-goal attempts, including going 47-for-70 from 50-plus yards.Source: The Athletic - Zack Rosenblatt
The New York Jets signed free-agent kicker MarShawn Lloyd Dealing With Groin Injury
MarShawn Lloyd (groin) suffered a groin injury in Monday's training camp practice and is not practicing on Tuesday, as expected. There was some worry when the Packers described Lloyd's injury as non-contact, and while he still could miss some time, at least it's not a non-contact knee injury. The 24-year-old only played in one game in 2024 in his rookie campaign, though, due to hip, hamstring, ankle and appendix issues. Another injury in training camp in his sophomore season isn't good news for the oft-injured back, but he could be ready to go for the start of the 2025 season. If Lloyd misses more time, it will give extra opportunities to both Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks behind RB1 Josh Jacobs in training camp.Source: The Athletic - Matt Schneidman
The Athletic's Matt Schneidman reports that Green Bay Packers running back Easton Lucas Called Up to Start Game 1 of Doubleheader
Easton Lucas has been called up from Triple-A Buffalo to make the start on Tuesday in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the division-rival Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. This will be Lucas' fifth start for the Blue Jays and his first appearance in the big leagues since late May. The 28-year-old southpaw has allowed 14 earned runs on 21 hits (five homers) while walking 10 and striking out 22 in 21 2/3 innings over five outings (four starts). Lucas also has an ERA over 5.00 at Buffalo and will be pitching on Tuesday on just three days of rest, so we would advise fantasy managers in deeper leagues looking for a streamer to avoid him. After Lucas makes the spot start for Toronto against the O's, he'll most likely head back to the minors.Source: Sportsnet.ca - Ben Nicholson-Smith
Toronto Blue Jays left-hander George Springer Out for Game 1 of Doubleheader
George Springer (head) is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday against the division-rival Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Davis Schneider is serving as the designated hitter and will bat second against Orioles right-hander Charlie Morton. Springer was hit in the head by a pitch in Monday's series opener and was pulled from the game. It's unclear if the 35-year-old is in the league's concussion protocol or if he'll be available for the second game of the double dip, so fantasy managers will need to check back for an update soon. Toronto can ill-afford to lose Springer for an extended period of time, as he's been one of their best spark plugs on offense in a resurgent 2025 season, slashing .291/.383/.506 with an .889 OPS, 18 home runs, 57 RBI, 66 runs and 12 stolen bases in 344 at-bats.Source: MLB.com
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Luke Clanton Looking For Spark Since Turning Pro at Wyndham Championship
Source: PGA Tour
It's been a struggle out of the gate for Luke Clanton, who is making his seventh start since turning pro in June. The flat stick has let him down, as he's averaging -0.593 strokes gained putting over the six previous starts. The ball striking is still staying fairly positive, though, so it isn't like the 21-year-old is that far off from returning to the form that intrigued us last season. We are at Sedgefield Country Club this week, where he finished 5th last season, when a third-round 62 let the golfing world know what the kid from FSU was capable of. Even with his recent struggles, Clanton still averages a 17.71% birdie or better rate on par 4s and ranks somewhere in the top 45 range of strokes gained tee to green (+0.484). He could be an exciting name to watch come Thursday.Keegan Bradley the Only Top-10 Player in World Rankings at Wyndham Championship
Source: PGA Tour
As the commanding leader of this year's U.S. Ryder Cup Team, Keegan Bradley is making the start this week in Greensboro, where he otherwise would likely skip given his place in both the FedEx Cup race and world ranking. However, he is here to compete nonetheless. Accuracy both on approach and off the tee has been what's given the 39-year-old such staying power. He's never played particularly well at Sedgefield in three career starts, though faulty approach play has thwarted likely chances. That area has become a strength, ranking 33rd on the season in strokes gained on approach (+0.398). The ceiling is a bit unpredictable, but the floor is solid enough to warrant consideration.Braelon Allen Held Out of Tuesday's Practice
Braelon Allen (knee) is battling knee soreness and will be re-evaluated before the team's practice on Thursday, according to Andy Vasquez of NJ Advance Media. The second-year back served as the backup to Breece Hall last season, rushing for 334 yards and two touchdowns on 92 carries as a rookie. While Allen is still projected to be behind Hall on the Jets' RB depth chart, early reports have indicated that New York plans for a more committee-style backfield in 2025. At 235 lbs., Allen could be the primary goal-line and short-yardage back for the Jets this season, putting him in a position to potentially lead the backfield in rushing touchdowns. While this injury doesn't seem particularly serious, it's worth monitoring to see how much practice time it causes Allen to miss. With a new coaching staff in place for the Jets this year, every preseason rep will be valuable for Allen to build trust.Source: NJ Advance Media - Andy Vasquez
New York Jets running back Jordan Mason Viewed as "Complete Back" by Vikings
Jordan Mason by signing him to a two-year contract worth $10.5 million this past offseason. According to ESPN's Kevin Seifert, Mason's playing time split with incumbent running back Aaron Jones will be "much closer" to 50-50 than previous RB1/RB2 splits in Minnesota under head coach Kevin O'Connell. In 12 games for the San Francisco 49ers last season, Mason logged 153 carries for 789 yards and three touchdowns. He wasn't utilized much as a receiver (11 catches), but Vikings offensive coordinator reportedly referred to him as a "natural catching the ball." If Minnesota views Mason as a three-down back, he could be in a fairly even time share with the 30-year-old Jones, whom O'Connell has spoken openly about reducing the workload for. Now might be the time for fantasy managers to invest in Mason, as more buzz about his usage could send him rocketing up draft boards.Source: ESPN - Kevin Seifert
The Minnesota Vikings made a sizable investment in running back Malik Nabers Leaves Practice With Shoulder Injury
Malik Nabers (shoulder) walked off the field from Tuesday's practice with the team's head trainer, according to Paul Schwartz of The New York Post. Schwartz reports that Nabers "might have tweaked his shoulder blocking on a running play." The severity of this injury is unclear at this point, but any significant missed time for Nabers would be a major concern for New York. The second-year wide receiver recorded 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games as a rookie in 2024. Nabers is the undisputed top weapon in the Giants' offense and profiles as a first-round fantasy selection in PPR leagues, provided he is healthy for the start of the regular season. UPDATE: The Giants believe that Nabers avoided a serious injury after leaving Tuesday's practice.Source: New York Post - Paul Schwartz

Alimber Santa Earns Promotion to Triple-A
Alimber Santa to Triple-A after a dominant run at Double-A. While with the Corpus Christi Hooks, Santa posted a 3-1 record with a 1.26 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 57 innings. Santa reaches triple digits with his fastball, complementing it with a solid slider and curveball. He's also improved his command, lowering his walk rate to 10.2% from 12.4% last season. Santa projects as a high-leverage reliever when he reaches the majors and should be a key name to monitor in dynasty leagues.Source: MiLB Central
The Houston Astros have promoted right-handed prospect Ryan Ritter Gets Two of Three Stitches Removed from Injured Finger
Ryan Ritter (finger) has had two of three stitches removed from his lacerated right middle finger, and swelling has decreased around the injury. Ritter landed on the 10-day injured list as a result of the finger ailment on July 20. In 113 plate appearances this season, the 24-year-old is hitting .238/.291/.347 with one home run, 12 RBI, 13 runs scored, and one stolen base. He's struggled to hit for power (1.4% barrel rate) while also whiffing too often (31% strikeout rate), an uninspiring combination. The Rockies have already traded away one infielder in third baseman Ryan McMahon, and could do the same with veteran middle infielders Thairo Estrada and Orlando Arcia, so there could be playing time available for Ritter upon his return.Source: MLB.com
Colorado Rockies infielder Cardinals Promote Deniel Ortiz to High-A Peoria
Deniel Ortiz to High-A Peoria. The 20-year-old, selected in the 16th round of the 2024 draft, has impressed with his athleticism at Single-A this season. Ortiz slugged 10 home runs and stole 31 bases over 76 games while slashing .287/.409/.450. He's maintained a modest 27.4% strikeout rate, showing promise at the plate. Ortiz's strong showing at Single-A has earned him the promotion, and if he continues to progress, look for him to climb the Cardinals' prospect rankings.Source: Chase Ford

German Marquez Plays Catch on Monday
German Marquez (biceps) played catch at 105 feet on Monday, but there is no timetable for his return, according to MLB.com. Marquez was placed on the 15-day injured list on July 23 (retroactive to July 21) due to right biceps tendinitis. The 30-year-old has thrown 98 1/3 innings (20 starts) this season, recording a 3-11 record with a 5.67 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, and 73 strikeouts. It's a good sign that Marquez has resumed throwing so soon after the injury, but there's no reason for the last-place Rockies to rush him back. Regardless, Marquez has not pitched well enough this year to be viable in fantasy. Right-hander Tanner Gordon has taken his place in the Colorado rotation since Marquez went down.Source: MLB.com
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Blue Jays' Kendry Rojas Promoted to Triple-A
Kendry Rojas has been promoted to Triple-A after an impressive stint at Double-A. Rojas dominated, striking out 40% of the hitters he faced while walking just 2.7%. At 22 years old, he's quickly climbing Toronto's prospect rankings and is now just one step away from the majors. Rojas features a mid-90s fastball that sets up his wipeout slider. His potential makes him an intriguing stash for dynasty leagues as he continues to develop and approach the big leagues.Source: Keegan Matheson
Toronto Blue Jays left-handed prospect Dylan Cease Going for CT Scan
Dylan Cease (head) will undergo a CT scan after being hit in the back of the head by a comebacker during his team's 7-6 win over the New York Mets on Monday night. Cease stayed in the game after the incident, which occurred in the third inning. This head injury is the latest setback in what has been a frustrating year for the 29-year-old. In 118 2/3 innings (22 starts), Cease is 3-10 with a 4.79 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 153 strikeouts. His 29.9% strikeout rate remains elite, but Cease is allowing the highest barrel rate (10.7%) of his career, and his 1.29 HR/9 is his highest since 2020. The results of this CT scan will likely determine whether he misses his next start, which had been scheduled to be on Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.Source: The Sporting Tribune - Marty Caswell
San Diego Padres starting pitcher Carson Whisenhunt Struggles Early in Debut for Giants
Carson Whisenhunt struggled early in his major league debut Monday against a weak Pittsburgh Pirates lineup. The Giants' top pitching prospect completed five innings, allowing four earned runs while striking out three. Command was an issue, as Whisenhunt threw just 49 of 85 pitches for strikes, walking two and allowing five hits. He struggled in the first two innings but settled in by the third, tossing three scoreless frames to finish his outing. Despite his effort, the Giants dropped the game 6-5. Whisenhunt will likely face much tougher competition in his next start against the New York Mets.Source: MLB.com
San Francisco Giants left-hander Robert Suarez Records Fourth Blown Save
Robert Suarez recorded his fourth blown save of the season on Monday night, allowing a solo home run to New York Mets infielder Ronny Mauricio that tied the score in the ninth inning. Luckily for both Suarez and the Padres, San Diego scored in the bottom of the ninth to win the game 7-6 in walk-off fashion, allowing Suarez to pick up his third win of 2025. For the season, Suarez has thrown 43 2/3 innings with a 3.50 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 46 strikeouts, and 30 saves. His 26.6% strikeout rate is his highest since the 2022 season. Suarez has been the undisputed closer in San Diego for each of the last two seasons and still has strong numbers overall, so this blown save is unlikely to knock him out of the ninth inning.Source: MLB.com
San Diego Padres closer DeVonta Smith Out Again on Tuesday With Back Tightness
DeVonta Smith (back) is sitting out of practice again on Tuesday with back tightness. Smith also missed practice on Monday with the ailment, although there's nothing to suggest that he is dealing with anything serious. The Eagles are likely taking it easy with the veteran as he looks to gear up for his fifth NFL season. Smith caught 68 passes for 833 yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games for the Eagles in their Super Bowl-winning season. Assuming his back tightness isn't anything more serious, he sets up as a solid low-end WE2/high-end WR3 heading into fantasy draft season.Source: Eliot Shorr-Parks on Twitter
