Rashod Bateman Misses Practice on Monday
Rashod Bateman (illness) was sent home on Monday due to an illness, according to Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. There's no reason to think this will be a long-term absence for Bateman, but he could conceivably miss the next few days of practice as well. The 25-year-old is coming off the best season of his career in 2024 when he recorded 45 catches for 756 yards and nine touchdowns in 17 games. Baltimore added some talent to the wide receiver room with the offseason addition of DeAndre Hopkins, but Bateman still profiles as an important piece of the team's offense. The Ravens' low-volume passing offense limits Bateman's fantasy upside, but he has some boom/bust appeal as a flex option in deep leagues due to his ability to make plays down the field.Source: NFL.com
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Mets Listening on Mark Vientos as Trade Deadline Nears
Mark Vientos in trade talks this week, and rival executives think that the team is willing to move him by this Thursday's July 31 deadline, league sources told SNY's Andy Martino. The Mets aren't looking to move any of their young infielders -- they've also received interest in Brett Baty and Ronny Mauricio -- but rival executives think Vientos is more available than Baty and Mauricio. The 25-year-old hit 27 home runs with an .837 in a breakout 2024 campaign. He might not be as good this year, but interested teams view Vientos as a player that can carry a team when he gets hot. The former second-round has struggled on both offense and defense in 2025, but he's currently on a six-game hitting streak and could see more playing time with a change of scenery to finish this year.Source: SNY - Andy Martino
The New York Mets have been discussing third baseman Jose Ochoa Dominated At UFC Abu Dhabi
Source: UFC
Jose Ochoa suffered a unanimous decision loss to Asu Almbayev on the main card of UFC Abu Dhabi on Saturday. Ochoa could not seem to get going, as he was dominated and taken down time and again. In the third round, Ochoa attempted to land an armbar submission, but Almbayev defended well and was never in danger. In 15 minutes of action, Ochoa landed a takedown and 26 significant strikes. With the loss, Ochoa dropped to 8-2 as a pro and is now 1-2 in the UFC. Najee Harris "Getting Better Every Day" in Recovery from Eye Injury
Najee Harris (eye) is on the mend from a fireworks-related eye injury that has landed him on the non-football injury list to start training camp. However, Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz says there's "no rush" to get Harris back on the field at this point in the summer. Harris signed a one-year deal with the Chargers this past offseason after spending the first four years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He's never missed a game in his career, and he rushed for over 4,300 yards and 28 touchdowns in Pittsburgh. The Chargers used a first-round pick on running back Omarion Hampton in the 2025 draft, and Hampton and Harris project to share touches in the team's backfield this season. However, with each day Harris misses, Hampton could be getting closer and closer to seizing the lead role.Source: Joe Hortiz - SiriusXM NFL Radio
Los Angeles Chargers running back Asu Almbayev Dominates At UFC Abu Dhabi
Source: UFC
Asu Almbayev got back in the win column by defeating Jose Ochoa via unanimous decision on the main card of UFC Abu Dhabi on Saturday. Almbayev delivered a dominant performance, outwrestling and outgrappling Ochoa en route to a unanimous decision win. Prior to this bout, Almbayev suffered a third-round TKO loss to Manel Kape. In 15 minutes of action, Almbayev landed seven takedowns and 22 significant strikes. With the win, Almbayev improved to 22-3 as a pro and is now 5-1 in the UFC.Giants to Consider Trading Camilo Doval?
Camilo Doval by this Thursday's July 31 trade deadline. However, rival executives think the Giants would be smart to move him. Opportunistic teams could take advantage, and the Giants' bullpen has been such a team strength this year that they could probably afford to lose him. San Fran's bullpen ranks second in ERA (3.23), third in opponents' OPS (.643) and first in WHIP (1.16). The 28-year-old Doval is also under team control through the 2027, which makes him even much more valuable around the league. If Doval were to be dealt this week, All-Star Randy Rodriguez, who has emerged as one of the best relievers in MLB, would almost certainly take over the closing duties for the Gigantes. Doval has incredible arm talent and has bounced back nicely from a disastrous 2024 that saw him sent to the minors.Source: The Athletic - Will Sammon and Andrew Baggarly
The San Francisco Giants aren't expected to trade closer Commanders, Terry McLaurin Not Close on New Deal
Terry McLaurin (ankle) is asking for in contract negotiations is "vast," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. McLaurin ended his holdout and reported to Commanders' training camp on Sunday, but he was immediately placed on the active/physically unable to perform list, so this could be a hold-in situation. McLaurin will turn 30 in September and has been remarkably durable throughout his career, playing in 17 games in each of the last five seasons. He caught 82 passes for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns in 2024, his first season playing with Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. McLaurin profiles as a high-end WR2 in fantasy as long as he's ready to go for the regular season, but it appears as though his return to the practice field is not particularly close.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
The difference between what the Washington Commanders are willing to offer and what wide receiver Nikita Krylov Suffers First-Round Knockout Loss
Source: UFC
Nikita Krylov suffered a first-round knockout loss to Bogdan Guskov on the UFC Abu Dhabi main card opener on Saturday. As Krylov entered the boxing range, he threw a leg kick, leaving himself open to Guskov's counter right hand. Guskov dropped Krylov with a big right hand and followed up with a barrage of punches, knocking Krylov out shortly after. In 4:18 of action, Krylov landed 16 significant strikes. With the loss, Krylov dropped to 30-11 as a pro and is now 11-9 in the UFC.Tigers Acquire Chris Paddack From Twins

Bogdan Guskov Scores Knockout Win
Source: UFC
Bogdan Guskov extended his win streak when he defeated Nikita Krylov via first-round knockout on the UFC Abu Dhabi main card opener on Saturday. After Krylov threw a slow leg kick, Guskov countered with a massive punch that knocked Krylov down. Guskov immediately followed up, knocking Krylov out as his head bounced off the canvas. In 4:18 of action, Guskov landed 23 significant strikes. With the win, Guskov extended his win streak to four.Evan Engram to be a Significant Focal Point for the Offense
Evan Engram is forming a nice combination with quarterback Bo Nix early in training camp. Engram, who joined the Broncos as a free agent in the offseason, was Nix's go-to target during the team's first padded practice on Monday. Previously with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Engram is only two years removed from piling up 114 receptions, 143 targets, 963 yards, and four touchdowns in 2023. The 30-year-old was unable to replicate that production last season, though, as he missed eight games with multiple injuries and caught 47 balls (64 targets) for 365 yards and one score. Healthy again and playing for a much better team, Engram looks to have intriguing rebound potential in 2025 with the ascending Nix as his quarterback.Source: Zac Stevens - DNVR Sports
Denver Broncos tight end Hunter Greene to Throw Four Innings in Tuesday's Rehab Start
Hunter Greene (groin) is scheduled to throw four innings in his next minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, according to Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer. Greene pitched in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League last Wednesday and threw two scoreless innings while striking out four and walking one for his first appearance in a game since June 3. The 25-year-old hurler is recovering from a strained right groin and could need a third rehab outing before the Reds feel comfortable having him rejoin their starting rotation for the final two months of the season. The hard-throwing righty should be rostered in all fantasy leagues, especially now that he's nearing a return to Cincy. The former first-rounder looked strong before his injury with a 2.72 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 73 K's in 59 2/3 frames over 11 starts.Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Charlie Goldsmith
Cincinnati Reds right-hander Baker Mayfield Reworks Contract
Baker Mayfield has agreed to a reworked contract that will guarantee him $30 million in 2026, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Mayfield's deal previously included no guarantees for the 2026 campaign, which is the final season of his contract. After bouncing around with the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, and Los Angeles Rams from 2018-22, the former No. 1 overall pick has finally realized his potential in Tampa Bay. He's coming off back-to-back 4,000-yard seasons, including a career-high 4,500 in 2024, and hasn't missed a game as a Buccaneer. Along with his lofty yardage total, Mayfield established new personal-bests in completion percentage (71.4%), touchdowns (41), and quarterback rating (106.8) last season. He also rushed for a career-best 378 yards and added three more scores on the ground. With a quality supporting cast around him, Mayfield is going into 2025 as RotoBaller's ninth-ranked QB.Source: Adam Schefter
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jayden Reed Getting Work in Two-Receiver Sets
Jayden Reed worked with the starters in two-WR sets during practice on Monday, according to Andy Herman of the Pack-A-Day podcast. That's a rarity for Reed, who totaled a meager 33 snaps in two-receiver sets during his first two seasons in the league. Despite somewhat limited usage, the former second-round pick from Michigan State still averaged around 60 catches, 85 targets, 825 yards, and seven touchdowns from 2023-24. While Reed does have issues with drops (he had 10 last year), he'd have significant upside if he were to accrue more snaps opposite Romeo Doubs. One potential problem for Reed is that the role may go to Matthew Golden, Green Bay's first-round pick in this year's draft.Source: Andy Herman

Tobias Myers Sent to Nashville
Tobias Myers to Triple-A Nashville and recalled right-hander Craig Yoho from Nashville in a corresponding move. Myers made five starts with the Brew Crew to begin the year before being sent to the minors. He rejoined the big-league squad in a relief role last week and made two appearances, throwing three scoreless innings with no walks and four strikeouts. The 26-year-old will now go back to Nashville and could be stretched out in a starting role so that he can be ready to provide depth out of the bullpen down the stretch and potentially into the postseason. The former sixth-rounder by the Baltimore Orioles in 2016 is off the fantasy radar right now and has a 4.30 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB in eight appearances (five starts) in Milwaukee this year.Source: Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Monday that they optioned right-hander Dalton Kincaid Dealing With Knee Soreness
Dalton Kincaid (knee) sat out practice on Monday with soreness in his left knee. There's no word on the severity of the issue, but it's worth noting that Kincaid missed a month last year with a PCL tear in the same knee and played through the injury at the end of the season. Thanks in part to his knee troubles, Kincaid experienced a marked decline in production compared to the previous season. As a rookie in 2023, the former first-round pick from Utah amassed 73 catches on 91 targets, 673 yards, and two touchdowns over 16 games. In another two-TD campaign last year, Kincaid caught only 44 of 75 targets for 448 yards in 13 contests. The 25-year-old still has serious upside, especially with reigning MVP Josh Allen as his quarterback and no established No. 1 wide receiver on the roster, but his ongoing knee troubles are concerning.Source: Alex Brasky - Bills Digest
Buffalo Bills tight end Adley Rutschman Reinstated From Injured List
Adley Rutschman (oblique) from the 10-day injured list and designated catcher Jacob Stallings for assignment in a corresponding move. Fantasy managers will need to check back shortly, but Rutschman should be back in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Toronto Blue Jays at Camden Yards. The 27-year-old switch-hitting backstop will return as the O's starting catcher after missing a month-plus with a strained left oblique. Despite a disappointing 2025 season to this point, the former first-rounder should be rostered in all fantasy leagues and should be returned to starting lineups. Rutschman has hit .227/.319/.372 to this point with eight home runs, 20 RBI and 31 runs for the disappointing Orioles.Source: Baltimore Orioles
The Baltimore Orioles announced on Monday that they reinstated catcher Courtland Sutton, Broncos Agree to Contract Extension
Courtland Sutton has agreed to a four-year, $92 million contract extension that will keep him with the team through the 2029 season. Sutton had been slated to become a free agent after the season, but he's staying in place after establishing a rapport with young quarterback Bo Nix in 2024. Sutton, 29, appeared in all of Denver's regular-season games last year and tallied career-high marks in catches (81) and targets (135). He also scored eight touchdowns and racked up 1,000-plus yards (1,081) for the second time in his first seven seasons in the NFL. The former second-round pick out of SMU remains atop the Denver receiver depth chart and should continue to get plenty of looks from Nix in the second year of the signal-caller's career. Sutton will enter the season as RotoBaller's 20th-ranked receiver.Source: Ian Rapoport
Denver Broncos wide receiver Yordan Alvarez "Ramping Up his Workload"
Yordan Alvarez (hand) is "ramping up his workload," according to general manager Dana Brown, and once he gets through that, the Astros plan to have him face live pitching. Brown wants Alvarez to go on a short minor-league rehab stint, too, before rejoining the big-league team. "I'll take a 75% Yordan Alvarez over some of the guys we have now," Brown added. The 28-year-old left-handed slugger was cleared to start hitting slow toss last week and has now gotten to the point where's he ready to see live pitching. It means that barring a setback, he could be back with the Astros by next week. Expect the Astros to ease him back in, and it's possible Alvarez serves as the primary DH the rest of the year. The three-time All-Star didn't look like himself in just 100 at-bats earlier this year, but he could be a difference-maker if he bounces back to form for the final two months.Source: Sports Talk 790

Cardinals Pitching Prospect Tekoah Roby Undergoes Tommy John Surgery
Tekoah Roby (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery and is expected to miss the entire 2026 season. The 23-year-old right-hander, acquired from Texas in the 2023 deadline deal for Jordan Montgomery, had made six starts at Triple-A Memphis after being promoted in June. Following a rough start, Roby had allowed just two earned runs over his last 21 innings before the injury. Durability remains a concern, as Roby also missed significant time in 2023. His fastball sits in the mid-90s, but his high-spin curveball is widely regarded as his most effective weapon. Continue to stash Roby in dynasty formats.Source: Katie Woo and Keith Law
St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Jeremy Pena Could be Back by Friday
Jeremy Pena (ribs) "will be back here soon" and could come off the injured list as early as Friday, Aug. 1. Brown wants to get Pena into a few minor-league rehab games and then get him back with the major-league squad. The 27-year-old has already taken on-field batting practice and was scheduled to face live pitching late last week. He has been out since late June with a small rib fracture, but Pena has made good progress and should be back soon as Houston's starting shortstop. Zach Short and Mauricio Dubon have filled in at the 6 in the last month with Pena injured. Fantasy managers will be hoping Pena can be as good as he was before his injury, as he hit .322 (102-for-317) with 11 home runs, 40 RBI, 48 runs scored and 15 stolen bases as a first-time All-Star in his first 82 games in 2025.Source: Sports Talk 790
Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown thinks that shortstop Courtland Sutton Nearing Extension with Broncos?
Courtland Sutton, according to Vic Lombardi of Altitude Sport. Lombardi notes that Sutton did not participate in several drills during the team's practice on Monday. Sutton will turn 30 in October and is entering the final year of his current deal. In 17 games last season, he recorded 81 catches for 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns, emerging as the clear favorite target of quarterback Bo Nix. Sutton is an integral piece of Denver's offense, so it makes sense that the team would want to eliminate any possible contract-related tension with him before the season starts. He profiles as a back-end WR2 in full-PPR fantasy leagues.Source: Altitude Sports - Vic Lombardi
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton says the team is "close" on a new contract for wide receiver Tyler Locklear Dominates Triple-A, Eyes Return to Mariners
Tyler Locklear exploded at Triple-A Tacoma last week, notching back-to-back four-hit games with five home runs and 10 RBI on the week. The 24-year-old first baseman is now slashing .316/.401/.543 with 19 homers and 18 steals on the year. After struggling in a brief MLB stint last season (.156 in 49 plate appearances), Locklear is making a strong case for a return. With Seattle cycling through underwhelming first base options, they recently acquired Josh Naylor from the Arizona Diamondbacks for help. It means that if Locklear joins the big-league club down the stretch, it will most likely be in a bench role.Source: Minor League Baseball
Seattle Mariners No. 9 prospect MarShawn Lloyd Leaves Packers Practice with Injury
MarShawn Lloyd (undisclosed) "walked off gingerly with a trainer" after a collision in practice on Monday, according to Andy Herman of the Pack-A-Day Podcast. It's too soon to tell how serious this injury is, but it's an ominous sign for the second-year back. Drafted in the third round in 2024, Lloyd missed almost all of his rookie year due to hip, hamstring, ankle, and appendix issues. He entered camp this year competing with Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks for the backup job behind Josh Jacobs in Green Bay. Lloyd averaged 7.1 yards per rush attempt and scored nine touchdowns in his final college season at USC in 2023, but he hasn't gained much traction at the NFL level to date. An extended training camp absence would put him even further behind the eight ball entering his second season.Source: Pack-A-Day Podcast - Andy Herman
Green Bay Packers running back Spencer Arrighetti to Make Another Rehab Start
Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) will make another minor-league rehab start, and if it goes well, he's expected to come off the injured list and rejoin the big-league club. Arrighetti threw 62 pitches in his latest rehab start on Saturday with Double-A Corpus Christi and allowed three runs (two earned) while walking one and striking out two in 3 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old wasn't all that sharp, so the Astros will give him another game on the farm to tighten things up and also lengthen out. When Arrighetti is cleared to rejoin the big leagues, he should immediately jump right back into the starting rotation and be relevant in mixed fantasy leagues. The former sixth-rounder made only two starts before his injury and wasn't exactly sharp with six earned runs allowed in 9 2/3 frames.Source: Sports Talk 790
Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown said that right-hander Mets Prospect Ryan Clifford Named Eastern League Player of the Week
Ryan Clifford was named Eastern League Player of the Week after a dominant stretch at Double-A. The 21-year-old slugger batted .522 with four home runs and eight walks, showcasing his advanced power and plate discipline. On the season, Clifford is slashing .245/.367/.497 with 21 home runs, a 26.6% strikeout rate, and an impressive 15.5% walk rate. A former 11th-round pick in the 2022 draft, Clifford has rapidly climbed the Mets' farm system. With continued production, the first baseman/outfielder could be on the fast track to Triple-A later this summer.Source: Minor League Baseball
New York Mets prospect Cam Skattebo Impressing In Giants Practice
Cam Skattebo made big plays as both a rusher and receiver during team drills on Friday, according to Matt Citak of Giants.com. A fourth-round pick out of Arizona State, Skattebo gained 2,316 yards from scrimmage and scored 24 touchdowns in 13 games last season for the Sun Devils. He's competing with second-year back Tyrone Tracy Jr. and veteran Devin Singletary for touches in the Giants' backfield. Skattebo proved himself to be a workhorse who could handle both rushing and receiving duties at the college level. With a solid showing in training camp and preseason games, he could vault himself into a significant role right away in 2025. RotoBaller currently ranks him as RB35, four spots behind Tracy Jr. in full-PPR.Source: Giants.com - Matt Citak
New York Giants rookie running back Mariners Prospect Tai Peete Named Player of the Week
Tai Peete was named the Northwest League's Player of the Week after a dominant stretch that included three home runs, one double, seven RBI, and five runs scored. The Mariners' No. 10 prospect and 2023 first-round pick has shown off his elite athleticism with 16 home runs and 19 stolen bases this season. However, his overall slash line of .225/.283/.415 at High-A reflects the growing pains. A 30.6% strikeout rate and 7.6% walk rate have stalled his path to Double-A. Peete remains a high-ceiling talent, but improved plate discipline will be crucial to his development.Source: Minor League Baseball
Seattle Mariners outfield prospect
