7 days agoMilwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez (rest) will be available to play in Friday's contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 36-year-old appeared as questionable on the injury report earlier but has now been cleared to take the court. He has scored in double figures in five straight games and will likely have more opportunities to score in this match-up since the Bucks will be without Damian Lillard (adductor) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf). Lopez has also been busy on the defensive end, recording at least two blocks in each of his previous four games.Source: NBA Injury Report
7 days agoChicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (groin) will reportedly ramp up his running this week, according to general manager Chris Getz. The oft-injured outfielder has been sidelined since early April due to a groin issue. It's nice to hear that Jimenez is ramping up his activities, but it doesn't sound like he's ready to play again yet. The White Sox haven't given much of a timetable for Jimenez, but the expectation is that Jimenez is still a few weeks away. The expectation is that Robbie Grossman and Kevin Pillar will see more playing time until Jimenez is ready again.Source: James Fegan
7 days agoMiami Heat guard Terry Rozier (neck) won't play on Friday against the Raptors. He's battling a neck injury, so he'll miss his third straight contest. Rozier has played well since joining the Heat. But now that he's officially ruled out, Tyler Herro, coming close to a triple-double in Wednesday's loss to Dallas, could continue to surpass his usual DFS expectations. At the same time, Patty Mills might also get more work, although not enough to be a trustworthy fantasy option.Source: Miami Heat
1 week agoPhiladelphia 76ers forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (toe) will miss a second consecutive game on Friday versus the Magic. He's dealing with a buried toe that could also keep him out for the final regular-season game on Sunday against Brooklyn. Buddy Hield and De'Anthony Melton could get a chance to see extra time on the court without Martin Jr., with the former being the better fantasy option. However, relying on Hield always tends to be risky business, and Friday's matchup is an awful one for the Sixers players fantasy-wise.Source: Kyle Neubeck
1 week agoPhiladelphia 76ers point guard Kyle Lowry (knee) will return from a two-game absence on Friday versus Orlando. He's set to link up with Tyrese Maxey (hip) on the backcourt, pushing Cameron Payne to the bench. De'Anthony Melton could also lose playing time with Lowry's return. This is a bad fantasy matchup for Philadelphia against a slow-paced team, and Lowry hasn't been a great asset for managers. The veteran is averaging only 6.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists for the month.Source: Kyle Neubeck
1 week agoCharlotte Hornets center Nick Richards (foot) won't play on Friday against the Celtics. The 26-year-old hasn't been as productive as he was a few months ago, so his absence isn't much of a blow for fantasy managers. However, with Richards and Grant Williams (ankle) both ruled out, Aleksej Pokusevski should draw serious value consideration for any DFS contest.Source: NBA Injury Report
1 week agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Alek Thomas (hamstring) recently told reporters that he is progressing well from his injury. The 23-year-old was placed on the injured list roughly two weeks ago due to a hamstring injury. Thomas has been taking at-bats in extended spring training and it appears to be going well. The D-Backs haven't given a timetable on Thomas lately, so fantasy managers will have to be patient. In the meantime, Jake McCarthy will continue seeing increased time in the outfield.Source: Jesse Friedman
1 week agoMilwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton (ankle) will be available to play in Friday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The sharpshooter sat out Wednesday's game versus the Orlando Magic due to left ankle injury management, but he will be able to suit up for this next contest against one of the top teams in the Western Conference. Both Damian Lillard (adductor) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) are not playing, which will likely put a lot of playmaking responsibility into the hands of Middleton.Source: NBA Injury Report
1 week agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon (illness) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Rockies' manager Bud Black said Blackmon is feeling under the weather, so they will hold him out of this contest. The expectation is that this will be a one-game absence for the veteran outfielder. In the meantime, Kris Bryant will function as the designated hitter, while Elehuris Montero covers first base versus right-hander Kevin Gausman on Friday.Source: Patrick Saunders
1 week agoCharlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams (ankle) won't play in Friday's matchup with the Celtics. He's battling a sprained right ankle. But with the Hornets having nothing left to play for, Williams likely won't see the floor again this season. With Nick Richards (foot) also out, Williams could have handled things at the five. But with both men out, Aleksej Pokusevski is nearly a lock for all DFS contests.Source: Charlotte Hornets
1 week agoBoston Celtics forward/center Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) and forward/center Al Horford (toe) will step out of the lineup on Friday against Charlotte. After losing to New York 118-109 on Thursday, Boston gives all of its key guys rest on Friday, with Xavier Tillman Sr. and Luke Kornet direct beneficiaries from the frontcourt absentees. The stage is set for the two to perform well against a team that gives up the third-most points and the second-most rebounds in the league to opposing centers.Source: Jared Weiss
1 week agoBrooklyn Nets center Day'Ron Sharpe (wrist) won't play on Friday versus the Knicks. He has a wrist injury, although there's no sense in putting him on the floor for a meaningless game for Brooklyn. With Dorian Finney-Smith (knee) also out, Noah Clowney, coming off a 10-point, seven-rebound, seven-block performance, has an even higher ceiling for DFS managers.Source: NBA Injury Report
1 week agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Jhoan Duran (oblique) reportedly felt good during his bullpen session on Friday. The right-hander continues working his way back from an oblique injury that has sidelined him since the end of spring training. It sounds like the plan is for Duran to throw again on Tuesday. The 26-year-old is likely still a few weeks away from getting back on the mound for the Twins. Until then, the Twins are likely to go closer by committee with Griffin Jax being the favorite to get saves.Source: Do-Hyoung Park
1 week agoNew York Knicks forward/center Isaiah Hartenstein (Achilles) won't play on Friday against the Nets. He had a double-double with six assists and two blocks in Thursday's win over the Boston Celtics. But the 25-year-old will sit this one out to rest before presumably suiting up for New York's final regular season game on Sunday. Nonetheless, without Hartenstein in the equation, Precious Achiuwa and Mitchell Robinson should split time in the middle, although the former is a much safer DFS option.Source: Fred Katz
1 week agoBoston Celtics guards Jrue Holiday (knee) and Derrick White (ankle) won't be in the lineup on Friday versus Charlotte. Boston will run with its bench mob against the Hornets, as the entire starting five plus Al Horford (toe) has been ruled out. Payton Pritchard will get the keys to the backcourt, with Jaden Springer and Svi Mykhailiuk also in a position to benefit from the absences of Holiday and White.Source: Jared Weiss
1 week agoBoston Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown (hand) will come out of the lineup as the team finishes a back-to-back on Friday against Charlotte. Brown is dealing with a hand sprain, but this is more of a rest day for him, with the C's having already secured the best record in the league and playing for a second consecutive night. Sam Hauser and Svi Mykhailiuk look set for a nice boost in minutes on Friday without Brown.Source: Jared Weiss
1 week agoBrooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson (toe) won't suit up for Friday's encounter with the New York Knicks. The former Sun has been in and out of the lineup over the last few games. However, his injury woes have been the norm all year, so he may not be on the floor for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign. Fortunately, Noah Clowney, coming off a 10-point, seven-block showing on Wednesday, will be a popular DFS option. Johnson's absence will also open the door for Jalen Wilson and Trendon Watford to get involved enough to enter the DFS value conversation.Source: NBA Injury Report
1 week agoBoston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (knee) will not play against Charlotte on Friday. The team has ruled him out with a right knee contusion. Boston will have all of its top six guys out on Friday, meaning a boatload of open minutes for the rest of the crew. Sam Hauser and Oshae Brissett will be the players directly benefiting from Tatum's absence.Source: Jared Weiss
1 week agoBrooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schroder (Achilles) won't play on Friday against the Knicks. The veteran has played well since getting moved to Brooklyn. However, the team has nothing left to play for, so Schroder may be done for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign. With Dennis Smith Jr. (hip) also out, Jacob Gilyard (hip) could slide into the starting lineup if he's cleared to play. But the offense should continue to run through Cam Thomas and Mikal Bridges regardless of who's at the one.Source: C.J. Holmes
1 week agoChicago Bulls guard/forward DeMar DeRozan (rest) will get the night off on Friday versus Washington. The Bulls have nothing left to play for and complete a back-to-back set, so it's completely understandable that the team gives DeRozan some time off. Coby White is set to be the only regular starter in the lineup and should get heavy usage in a good matchup against a struggling team. Meanwhile, Chicago's bench mob led by Dalen Terry will get an opportunity to show what they are capable of in larger roles.Source: K.C. Johnson
1 week agoOrlando Magic forward Franz Wagner (ankle) will suit up for Friday's game in Philly. He's missed the last two games because of a sprained right ankle and was riding a questionable tag heading into this one. But Orlando is looking to clinch the Southeast division, which is incentive enough for Wagner to return. Nonetheless, with F. Wagner back in the mix, Moritz Wagner and Jonathan Isaac will likely see fewer than 20 minutes each, lowering their ceilings for DFS purposes.Source: Orlando Magic
1 week agoChicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic (rest) won't feature against the Wizards on Friday. He sits out the second leg of a back-to-back for rest purposes. With Andre Drummond (ankle) already on the shelf, it looks like we'll get to know Adama Sanogo a lot better on Friday. Smaller lineups could also give extra playing time to Dalen Terry, Torrey Craig, and Javonte Green.Source: K.C. Johnson
1 week agoWashington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (illness) won't be in the lineup on Friday against Chicago. The team has downgraded him from questionable to out. Poole's absence is good news for Jared Butler and Johnny Davis, who should receive a big boost in playing time, as there aren't many backcourt options left for the Wizards. There's also a possibility for the rest of the squad to get up more shots without Poole, who's averaging close to 20 attempts for the month.Source: Bijan Todd
1 week agoWashington Wizards forward/center Richaun Holmes (toe) won't be able to return to the lineup on Friday against Chicago. The team has downgraded Holmes from questionable to out, meaning an eighth consecutive absence for him. Tristan Vukcevic is available again on Friday and should make another start in a decent matchup. The 21-year-old has looked very promising in his first few outings in the NBA, averaging 14.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in three previous starts.Source: Bijan Todd
1 week agoUtah Jazz center Walker Kessler (nose) will skip a fifth consecutive game on Friday versus the Clippers. He continues to recover from a nasal fracture. There's no John Collins (back) either for the Jazz, meaning a big dosage of Omer Yurtseven, Darius Bazley, and Luka Samanic on the frontcourt. The latter had the best game of the three on Thursday against Houston, producing a team-high 22 points with six rebounds, two assists, and a steal.Source: NBA Injury Report
1 week agoUtah Jazz guard Kris Dunn (foot) will miss a fourth consecutive game on Friday against the Clippers. He remains on the shelf due to inflammation in his left foot. The Jazz backcourt is down to bare bones, meaning fantasy managers should target Keyonte George and Talen Horton-Tucker. Johnny Juzang is also among the beneficiaries in the situation, but he's been wildly inconsistent with his performances.Source: NBA Injury Report
1 week agoUtah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson (back) will remain out of the lineup on Friday against the Clippers. Clarkson has played just five times since the beginning of last month, leaving Utah without its third-best scorer. Keyonte George has gotten a big boost in fantasy value on Utah's backcourt over the final couple of months of the season, with Talen Horton-Tucker also recently breaking back into the rotation. With Collin Sexton (illness) considered doubtful for Friday, George and Horton-Tucker could be used even more on the offensive end.Source: NBA Injury Report
1 week agoMiami Marlins shortstop Tim Anderson (illness) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves. According to Marlins manager Skip Schumaker, Anderson is sick, so it was better for him to take the day off. He is considered day-to-day. The 30-year-old has started all 13 games for the Marlins, slashing .280/.308/.300 with an RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases over 52 plate appearances. Vidal Brujan is batting ninth and will handle shortstop duties while Anderson is rested. Brujan has yet to record a hit in 13 plate appearances over seven games this season and can be avoided as a streamer and a DFS play for Friday's main slate.Source: Kevin Barral
1 week agoUtah Jazz forward/center John Collins (back) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Clippers. He will miss a seventh consecutive game with back spasms. Omer Yurtseven has taken over as Utah's starting center. He's averaging 8.6 points and 8.2 rebounds in the role. The Clippers give up the eighth-most rebounds in the league to opposing centers, giving Yurtseven a good opportunity to battle for a double-double in Friday's matchup.Source: NBA Injury Report
1 week agoHouston Rockets point guard Fred VanVleet (hip) will miss Friday's contest against Portland. He gets the night off because of a right hip contusion after erupting for a season-high 42 points on Thursday versus Utah. VanVleet's absence will likely open the door for Aaron Holiday to join the starting unit, although Jalen Green and Amen Thompson will be the biggest beneficiaries in the situation. Both should get more playmaking opportunities and shots. Green ate up just 19 minutes on Thursday and should be eager to perform well in a favorable matchup.Source: NBA Injury Report
