Jeff Sims Likely to Start Against Utah
Arizona State quarterback Jeff Sims is expected to start for the Sun Devils on Saturday against Utah, as Heisman-hopeful Sam Leavitt (undisclosed) is listed as doubtful for Week 7. Leavitt has been dealing with an injury since the September 20 win over Baylor, and head coach Kenny Dillingham said he won't play, barring something miraculous. Between his time at Georgia Tech, Nebraska, and Arizona State, Sims has 26 starts under his belt. He's posted an 8-18 record as a starter behind over 6,300 yards of total offense, 44 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions. It's not easy to play in Salt Lake City as the visitor, so this is a tough spot to call on the backup QB.
