John Mateer Upgraded to Probable Ahead of Saturday's Red-River Shootout
Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer (hand) was upgraded to probable on Thursday night's SEC injury report. Mateer missed Oklahoma's last game against Kent State because of hand surgery on September 17. Mateer's original timetable for a return was three to four weeks. He will return to action for Saturday's Red River Shootout in Dallas just 17 days after the surgery. The return of Mateer gives the Oklahoma offense more spark. He has completed 95 of 141 passes for 1,215 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions. Mateer is also dangerous on the ground, rushing for 190 yards and five touchdowns on 43 attempts so far in 2025.
