Joel Diaz Continues Strong Start To High-A Season
Joel Diaz continued his impressive start to the High-A campaign. On Wednesday, Diaz tossed four shutout innings against Jersey Shore. In this start, Diaz allowed just two hits and no walks. He struck out five. Over his first 15 2/3 innings of the campaign, the 21-year-old has not allowed a run and held a strong 0.70 WHIP. During this stretch, he has held a near-perfect 18:2 K:BB. Last summer, Diaz made his return to the mound after missing all of the 2023 season due to Tommy John surgery. In 2024, Diaz spent most of his time with Low-A St. Lucie and logged 67 2/3 innings to the tune of a 4.92 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. Given his impressive start at High-A, Diaz could push for an earlier than expected Double-A debut.Source: MiLB.com
New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect Ryan Clifford Goes Deep On Wednesday
Ryan Clifford went 2-for-3 with a home run during their contest on Wednesday evening against Double-A New Hampshire. This outing extended his current hitting streak to four games. During this four-game surge, Clifford has tallied at least two hits in all but one contest. Before this recent surge, the No. 4-ranked prospect in the system held an underwhelming .154/.333/.231 slash line with just two extra-base hits. Clifford spent most of the 2024 campaign with Double-A Binghamton, and fantasy managers should expect Clifford to be in contention to earn a promotion to Triple-A in the coming weeks if he continues this steady production. If he is able to earn an early call to Triple-A this summer, he could push for a second-half MLB debut.Source: MiLB.com
New York Mets first base prospect Jaison Chourio Hits First Home Run Of High-A Regular Season
Jaison Chourio went 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks during their contest on Tuesday against High-A Great Lakes. After a strong season with Low-A last summer, Chourio was able to open the 2025 season with High-A. Through his first 14 games at this level, the 19-year-old has held a .240/.406/.320 slash line with just two extra-base hits. However, he has held an elite 15:14 K:BB and swiped three bags. Over his previous nine games, Chourio has posted a strong .281/.452/.406 line and appears to have begun to turn the corner. Last summer at Low-A, the No. 57-ranked prospect in the sport, posted a .269/.414/.398 line. Even though he is several years away from his MLB debut, he is developing into one of the sport's top prospects.Source: MiLB.com
Cleveland Guardians outfield prospect Brady Singer Earns Fourth Win In Quality Start
Brady Singer (4-0) was stellar on Wednesday, tossing six innings of two-run ball in a 5-2 win over the Miami Marlins. Singer allowed four hits, walked none, and struck out eight, picking up his fourth win of the season. Overall, he now owns a 3.62 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 32 strikeouts in 27 ⅓ IP. Although it was a good outing, it should be noted that the Marlins have already made many pitchers look like studs this season. The 28-year-old is a solid option in fantasy leagues and should be rostered, but isn't a must-start and should be a matchup-dependent play in standard-sized leagues. Singer will look to improve to (5-0) in his next scheduled start on Tuesday, at home against the St. Louis Cardinals.Source: MLB.com
Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Corbin Carroll Keeps Raking With Two More Homers
Corbin Carroll continues to rake as he launched two more homers in a 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. Carroll went 2-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, and a walk in Wednesday's victory. He launched his first home run of the night in the bottom of the first and belted another shot in the seventh frame to give Arizona the lead. This game brings the 24-year-old superstar to a .327 AVG and .1.097 OPS with 23 runs, nine homers, 22 RBI, and four steals on the season. He has been absolutely electric in the early going and is looking like a candidate for NL MVP. This year, taking a slight risk on him in the late-first or early-second rounds of drafts looks like a massive hit for fantasy managers.Source: MLB.com
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Carlos Rodon Strong Again In Win Over Cleveland
Carlos Rodon (3-3) had another brilliant outing on Wednesday, tossing seven innings of one-run ball in a 5-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians. He picked up his third win of the season. Rodon's only run allowed was unearned, and he allowed only four hits and two walks while striking out eight. After a dominant outing against the Tampa Bay Rays last time out, Rodon continued to sparkle in this one. He's racked up 17 strikeouts in 13 IP over his last two starts and has only allowed one (unearned) run on six total hits in those starts. He is a must-start in fantasy while pitching like this, and fantasy managers who roster him should be very encouraged by his past two starts. Rodon will look to keep things rolling in his next scheduled start on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles.Source: MLB.com
New York Yankees starting pitcher Luke Keaschall Shows Off Speed With Two Swipes
Luke Keaschall continued his impressive start in the majors, going 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and a pair of stolen bases in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Chicago White Sox. The No. 57 prospect on MLB Pipeline now has five steals in five major league games and is hitting .353 (6-for-17) over that small sample. He has also been hitting third in the Twins' lineup for the last few games, so the team might be buying into his hot start. While he is unlikely to provide much power, the 22-year-old should provide plenty of speed and a good average. He is worth a pickup in standard-size leagues for those looking to improve in those areas.Source: MLB.com
Minnesota Twins second baseman J.P. Crawford Finally Hits First Home Run Of The Season
J.P. Crawford had a load lifted off his shoulders on Wednesday, as he went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and a walk in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Boston Red Sox. Crawford blasted a three-run shot in the top of the fourth inning to give the Mariners a 4-0 lead. It was his first home run of the year. The 30-year-old added an RBI single in the seventh inning, giving him a total of four RBI on the night. It's been a tough go for the 30-year-old veteran, who now has a .246 AVG and .714 OPS, with 11 runs, one homer, 10 RBI, and one steal. While he has been heating up in the last week, he still doesn't need to be rostered outside of the deepest leagues.Source: MLB.com
Seattle Mariners shortstop Teoscar Hernandez Busts Out Of Slump Wednesday
Teoscar Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in Wednesday's 7-6 loss to the Chicago Cubs. His home run was a two-run shot in the fifth inning that gave the Dodgers a lead. Hernandez had been slumping recently, with his OPS dropping from .945 on April 6 to .775 entering Wednesday. He also hadn't homered since April 9, so this game was a nice slump-buster. Overall, the 32-year-old is slashing .270/.290/.528 with six home runs, 22 RBI, 12 runs, and two stolen bases over 93 plate appearances. Even with the mini-slump, Hernandez has been a must-start player in fantasy this year, and there is no reason to think that will change anytime soon.Source: MLB.com
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andrew Heaney Tosses Six Shutout Innings
Andrew Heaney picked up the win and fired six scoreless innings against the Angels in a 3-0 victory on Wednesday. He struck out nine and only allowed one hit. This was his second straight scoreless outing, and his ERA on the season is now down to 1.72 with 31 strikeouts compared to only six walks in 31 ⅓ innings pitched. He looked truly dominant in this start, inducing 24 whiffs on the night for an elite 46% whiff rate. However, it's hard to fully trust Heaney going forward, no matter how good he looks in any given start. He's shown flashes like this in every one of his more recent seasons, and still finished with an ERA above 4.00 in 2024 and 2023.Source: MLB.com
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Triston Casas Launches Three-Run Homer
Triston Casas blasted a three-run home run and drew one walk in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the Mariners. This was his second game in a row with a home run, and the slugger is finally showing signs of life after a very slow start to the season. He's batting just .171 on the year with three home runs, 10 RBI, and five runs through 23 games. Even his usually stellar walk rate is down to a middling 8.8%, with truly nothing going right for him over the first few weeks. He seems to be snapping out of it recently though, dating back to Saturday when he delivered a walk-off hit. It's too early to give up on Casas in fantasy, as he still possesses massive power upside.Source: MLB.com
Boston Red Sox first baseman Jordan Lawlar Records Another Multi-Hit Performance
Jordan Lawlar continued his strong start to the 2025 campaign on Wednesday, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI for Triple-A Reno. It was his fourth multi-hit performance in the last five games and ninth of the year, boosting his season slash line to .333/.426/.632 with five home runs, 22 RBI, 21 runs scored, and eight steals. That type of multi-category production is what has been expected from him all along, so long as he can stay healthy. With health intact, fantasy managers who have the roster space should be stashing the 22-year-old in all formats, as he can be a solid fantasy contributor across the board whenever he gets the call, which should be within the next couple of weeks.Source: MiLB.com
Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong Homers, Steals Two Bases
Pete Crow-Armstrong filled up the stat sheet on Wednesday, going 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, one run, and two stolen bases in a 7-6 win over the Dodgers. The youngster has been on fire as of late, as this is his second straight three-hit game and his fifth in his last 13. He started off the season on a cold note, but is now slashing .294/.339/.549 with five home runs, 17 RBI, 21 runs, and 10 stolen bases through 26 games. He's already at half of his 2024 home run total that spanned 123 games, and it looks like the breakout that many hoped for has officially arrived.Source: MLB.com
Chicago Cubs outfielder Yanquiel Fernandez With Another Multi-Homer Game
Yanquiel Fernandez went 3-for-6 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored on Wednesday for Triple-A Albuquerque. The two home runs put him atop the minor-league leaderboard with a total of seven home runs, tied with the Athletics' Nick Kurtz, who is now in the major leagues. Fernandez has come alive over the last three games, going 7-for-13 (.538) with a double, four home runs, seven RBI, and five runs scored over that stretch. The 22-year-old owns a .254/.325/.592 slash line through 19 games, and with the Rockies currently with the worst record in baseball while averaging the third-lowest runs per game output, expect the team to see what they have in their sixth-ranked prospect at the major league level at some point this season, perhaps sooner than later if he continues to rake. The left-handed slugger has big power that should play well at Coors, so fantasy managers should take notice whenever he gets the call. Source: MiLB.com
Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Reese Olson Strikes Out Seven In Win
Reese Olson earned his third win of the season on Wednesday, pitching 7 ⅓ scoreless innings while striking out seven. He allowed just two hits and one walk. This was his second straight scoreless outing, and it lowered his ERA to 3.29 on the year. It was especially encouraging to see him record 22 outs on the night, as this was his fourth start of his career that has lasted seven innings or longer. He'll look to carry this momentum into his next start, currently lined up against the Astros.Source: MLB.com
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jake Mangum Exits Game With Groin Tightness
Jake Mangum (groin) left Wednesday's game in the fourth inning due to left groin tightness, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. He left the game after pulling up while running to first base. The extent of the injury isn't yet known, but more information will be available after he's evaluated further. He's been great so far in the early going of 2025, slashing .338/.384/.397 through 21 games. He hasn't homered yet but is a major threat on the base paths with eight stolen bases. Hopefully the groin issue doesn't impact that speed moving forward. UPDATE: Mangum will undergo imaging on Thursday to learn the severity of his left-groin injury. For what it's worth, Mangum isn't too concerned about the injury.Source: Marc Topkin
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Ryan Pressly Dealing With Knee Issues
Ryan Pressly (knee) had his right knee drained on Tuesday night, according to manager Craig Counsell. He hopes for him to be available on Friday. Pressly hasn't pitched since Sunday and was noticeably absent in Wednesday's 7-6 win over the Dodgers, where Porter Hodge picked up his first save of the season. Luckily, the injury doesn't appear to be serious if the Cubs are anticipating a return in a couple of days. He's been solid in the closer role in 2025, posting a 2.45 ERA with four saves through 11 appearances.Source: Andy Martinez

Jac Caglianone Stays Hot On Wednesday
Jac Caglianone continued his hot hitting on Wednesday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas, going 2-for-4 with a double for the second straight game. It was also the left-handed hitter's fourth consecutive multi-hit performance, upping his season slash line to .300/.373/.529 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 14 runs scored, and a stolen base. The 2024 first-round draft pick should continue to push for a promotion to Triple-A, and if he proves he can hit there, then don't be surprised to see him get a taste of the big leagues by season's end. The Royals' top prospect (MLB No. 20) has big-time power, graded at 70 per MLB.com's scouting report, and if he doesn't have a fantasy impact in 2025, then 2026 should be the year. Redraft managers may have to wait, but dynasty managers should have the 6-foot-5 slugger stashed away already.Source: MiLB.com

Raiders Could Go With Offensive Lineman At No. 6 Overall
Ashton Jeanty under new general manager John Spytek, but The Athletic's Dianna Russini writes that strong cases are being made in Vegas' draft room to address their offensive line with the No. 6 overall pick on Thursday night instead. The Raiders reportedly have been interested in moving up into the top five picks of this year's NFL draft while also being open to moving back, depending on what transpires early on. Jeanty is the obvious fit for the Raiders, even after they added veteran Raheem Mostert to their backfield in free agency. However, with such a deep class at the RB position this year, the Raiders may not feel pressured to pull the trigger on Jeanty in the top 10 if they stay put at pick No. 6 overall.Source: The Athletic - Dianna Russini
The Las Vegas Raiders spent a lot of time this offseason doing their homework on Boise State running back Jaguars, Raiders Looking To Trade Up In First Round
Travis Hunter?). For the right trade offer, though, the Jaguars remain open to moving down from the No. 5 pick as well. If the Jaguars or Raiders were to swing a trade to move up to somewhere in the No. 2 to 4 pick range, it would most likely be for either Hunter or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter. The Browns, Giants and Patriots hold picks No. 2 through 4, respectively.Source: The Athletic - Dianna Russini
The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars, who own the No. 5 overall pick, and the Las Vegas Raiders (No. 6) have both expressed interest in moving up at the top of the first round if the player they want is available, according to sources. Russini was told that the Jaguars are hoping to keep this year's draft "electric" with first-year head coach Liam Coen and first-year general manager James Gladstone, and they are looking for an offensive player (Marcelo Mayer With Two More Multi-Hit Performances Wednesday
Marcelo Mayer notched his fifth consecutive multi-hit performance in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader for Triple-A Worcester, then followed that up with a sixth straight multi-hit effort in Game 2. The left-handed slugger was 4-for-6 on the day with a walk, a home run, two RBI, and a run scored, now slashing .277/.318/.518 with six home runs and a minor-league-leading 26 RBI through 20 games. There's no clear path to playing time for the 22-year-old, however, he was at DH in Game 1 and at second base in Game 2; with shortstop being his primary position, it's possible he could have some sort of utility role whenever he gets the call in order to get him major league at-bats. As long as he stays hot, the closer his debut becomes, so fantasy managers should stay vigilant if looking for offensive help. Source: MiLB.com
Boston Red Sox infield prospect Saints Won't Pick Up Fifth-Year Option On Trevor Penning
Chris Olave. It's a no-brainer decision for the Saints on the 25-year-old Penning, who hasn't exactly panned out as a reliable starter on their offensive line since they took him 19th overall in 2022 out of Northern Iowa. He did start all 17 games at right tackle for the Saints in 2024 after starting just six games in his first two years in the league in 2022 and 2023, but Penning was a liability in pass protection for beat-up quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder) and those that replaced him due to injury. With the news, Penning is now scheduled to become a free agent after the upcoming 2025 season.Source: Ross Jackson
The New Orleans Saints will not be picking up the fifth-year option on offensive lineman Trevor Penning for the 2026 season. They announced earlier on Wednesday that they will pick up the fifth-year option for wide receiver Nick Chubb Not Interested In Retirement
Nick Chubb (foot) remains on the free-agent market on the eve of the 2025 NFL draft, he doesn't appear to be considering retirement. "They've already wrote my ending when I'm just getting started," Chubb wrote on Instagram, adding a bat emoji. Chubb also posted a video on his social media page of him squatting significant weight, which is something he hadn't really done since a devastating knee injury that he suffered early in the 2023 season. The 29-year-old second-rounder and four-time Pro Bowler returned to play in eight games for the Browns in 2024 but didn't look like the same guy, averaging a career-worst 3.3 yards per carry on 102 rushing attempts for 332 yards and three touchdowns. Chubb also suffered a season-ending foot fracture in December, which no doubt has many teams skeptical about how much he can offer moving forward.Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra
While long-time Cleveland Browns running back George Pickens Drawing Trade Interest
George Pickens' name up in trade discussions, and he's a name to watch with the 2025 NFL draft kicking off on Thursday night. The Steelers aren't actively shopping Pickens, but trade talks have taken place as the 24-year-old pass-catcher enters the final year of his contract in 2025. The Steelers could use some more draft capital after giving away their second-rounder this year to acquire DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks, but they are also excited about the possibilities in 2025 with Metcalf and Pickens sharing the field on offense. It sounds like the Steelers aren't in a rush to get rid of Pickens, even though his long-term future with the organization is in question, but they could give in if a team offers them something too good to pass up. Stay tuned.Source: FOX Sports - Jordan Schultz

Concerns About Tetairoa McMillan's Lack Of Effort
Tetairoa McMillan ranked as the 50th overall prospect on his draft board this year due to concerns about his effort, saying that he quit on over-the-middle targets and didn't work hard enough with the Sun Devils. McMillan still managed to produce 1,319 receiving yards and eight touchdowns at Arizona in his final collegiate season in 2024 and is considered by many to be one of the top prospects at the receiver position heading into this week's draft. Teams like the New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys could surely use a talent like McMillan in their offense. The Patriots have the fourth overall pick in the first round on Thursday night, while the Saints sit at No. 9, and the Cowboys have the No. 12 overall selection. Depending on where McMillan lands, he could make an immediate fantasy impact in 2025.Source: ESPN - Todd McShay
