San Francisco Giants right-handed pitcher Justin Verlander (pectoral) was able to complete a 35-4 pitch simulated game on Friday and is set to undergo further evaluation on Saturday. The 42-year-old was placed on the 15-day injured list on May 22 with a right pectoral strain and appears to be progressing well through his recovery. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be cleared to take the next steps in his process. The team has not decided whether he will need to complete a rehab assignment before returning. Before the injury, Verlander posted a modest 4.33 ERA with a 1.40 WHIP across 52 innings. He tallied only 41 strikeouts. Given his struggles through the early part of the season, he is only worth rostering in deeper formats for the time being.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III (undisclosed) was still missing from offseason practices this week due to an undisclosed soft-tissue injury. It's unclear exactly what Burden is dealing with. Although he could be ready to go by training camp in late July, the 21-year-old pass-catcher is losing valuable developmental reps this offseason heading into his first NFL season in 2025. In addition to his injury, he has yet to sign his rookie contract. When healthy, Burden could be the Bears' No. 3 receiver in the slot alongside DJ Moore and second-year man Rome Odunze. He will likely be competing with Olamide Zaccheaus for the No. 3 role, but even if he wins it, Burden could be fighting an uphill battle for consistent targets in his rookie season on a Bears offense that now has six players that were former top-50 picks.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Adam Jahns

St. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitching prospect Michael McGreevy is expected to be promoted from Triple-A Memphis to start Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Dodgers. McGreevy was given a spot start earlier this season and performed well, logging 5 2/3 shutout innings against the New York Mets. In this outing, he struck out five batters and allowed just one hit and one walk. Last summer, McGreevy made his MLB debut and found success as well, posting a 1.96 ERA and a stellar 0.78 WHIP across 23 frames. During this stint, he struck out 18 batters. Through 339 1/3 career innings at the Triple-A level, McGreevy has posted a 4.00 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP. Even though he has found success in the big leagues, he is best to fade in DFS on Sunday while facing a potent Dodgers lineup.--Andy SmithSource: John Denton

Seattle Mariners right-handed pitcher George Kirby (jaw) is listed as Sunday's starter when the Mariners face the Los Angeles Angels. In his last start, Kirby was struck by a comebacker. However, the right-hander avoided a significant injury and is in line to make his next scheduled start. In his last start, Kirby logged five innings of two-run ball against the Orioles. He struck out three batters and allowed one walk and eight hits. Through 13 2/3 innings this season, Kirby has held a high 8.56 ERA with a 1.83 WHIP. Kirby dealt with right shoulder inflammation during the early part of the campaign and has struggled to find his footing early on. However, last summer, Kirby held a 3.53 ERA with an impressive 1.07 WHIP across 191 innings of work. He will be a strong play in DFS facing the Angels on Sunday.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Chicago Bears safety Jaquan Brisker (concussion) missed most of last season with a concussion. Brisker sought and underwent treatment at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he was told that he had a vestibular concussion. He retrained his nervous system after appearing in only five games in 2024. The 26-year-old is back on the field during offseason workouts, though, and has been flying around like he did before his concussion, according to The Athletic's Adam Jahns. The former second-round pick (48th overall) in 2022 will be a big piece of the secondary that the Bears will be getting back this year, as he had 100-plus combined tackles in both of his first two seasons in the NFL in 2022 and 2023. Brisker had 40 tackles (23 solo), a sack, an interception and a forced fumble in his five games last year. If fully healthy, he should be in play as a DB streamer in IDP fantasy formats.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Adam Jahns

Chicago White Sox catching prospect Kyle Teel will be batting fifth on Saturday when the White Sox continue a series against the Kansas City Royals. Teel will serve as the DH, which will allow Edgar Quero to enter the lineup and be behind the dish. Teel made his MLB debut on Friday evening and went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run. In this game, Teel was batting sixth. It is an excellent sign for his fantasy potential to see him already begin to move up the batting order. Earlier this season at Triple-A, the No. 28-ranked prospect posted a strong .295/.394/.492 slash line with 10 doubles, eight home runs, and a 54:30 K:BB. Given his high power upside and clear path to an everyday role in the starting nine, Teel is a viable waiver wire target in all standard leagues.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez is not in the starting lineup on Saturday when the Dodgers continue a series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Hernandez has started in each of the past 15 contests. During this stretch, the 32-year-old has posted a .193/.234/.328 slash line. He has only tallied five doubles and hit one round-tripper over this span. This afternoon, the Dodgers will have Andy Pages shift over to right field, which will open up center field for Hyeseong Kim. Prior to this skid at the plate, Hernandez posted a stellar .315/.333/.600 slash line with 10 doubles, nine home runs, and 34 RBI. Fantasy managers should expect Hernandez to return to the starting nine on Sunday. This afternoon, the Dodgers are the strong target in DFS facing right-hander Erick Fedde, who enters this game with a 3.82 ERA.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Toronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk is not in Saturday's lineup when they continue a series against the Minnesota Twins. Kirk has started in each of the past five contests. During this stretch, Kirk posted a strong .368/.400/.474 slash line with two doubles and four RBI. He only struck out twice during this stretch. This afternoon, the Blue Jays will give Tyler Heineman the starting nod behind the dish. Heineman is slated to bat in the nine-hole. Through 51 games this season, Kirk has been productive in the batter's box, posting a .304/.352/.387 slash line with six doubles and three home runs. He has struck out at an impressive 10.1% rate and generated an elite .313 xBA. Fantasy managers should expect Kirk to return to the lineup on Sunday. This afternoon, Heineman is not worth targeting in DFS facing Minnesota right-hander Chris Paddack.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is not in the team's starting lineup on Saturday against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays at Target Field. Harrison Bader will start in center field and will bat ninth versus Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman. Although Bader has been a nice surprise offensively in his first year with the Twins in 2025, fantasy managers setting DFS lineups will probably want to avoid him in the nine-hole and for the fact he's hit just .091 with an RBI in 11 career at-bats against Gausman. Buxton could use a little breather after going hitless in nine at-bats with two strikeouts in his last three games. The 31-year-old former second overall pick is on pace for his first 20-homer, 20-stolen base season in his 12th year in the big leagues if he can stay healthy the rest of the way. That's a pretty big if, considering his lengthy injury history.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (back) is starting at shortstop and batting third in Saturday's game against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Kevin Gausman. With Correa back after missing three straight games with back tightness, Brooks Lee will head back to the bench this weekend. Th 30-year-old Correa will return to face Gausman, who he has hit .267 against with an RBI in 15 career at-bats. He's mostly been a disappointment for fantasy managers in 2025 with a .241/.285/.380 slash line, a .665 OPS, only five home runs, 19 RBI and 23 runs scored in 187 at-bats. The good news is that the former first overall pick has an xBA of .270, indicating that he should experience positive regression going forward if he can stay healthy. Since May 26, Correa has gone 8-for-31 (.258) with two homers, three doubles and five RBI in eight games.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

The Atlanta Braves announced on Saturday that they designated right-handed reliever Craig Kimbrel for assignment and recalled left-hander Austin Cox from the minors in a corresponding move. Well, that didn't last long. The Braves shook up their bullpen after a meltdown in Thursday's loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks and brought Kimbrel back to the big leagues. He made his first appearance with the Braves since the end of the 2014 regular season on Friday night and tossed a scoreless inning in the extra-inning loss to the San Francisco Giants. If Kimbrel passes through waivers, which is likely, he can either accept an outright assignment back to Triple-A Gwinnett or try to sign with another club as a free agent. The nine-time All-Star has 440 career saves in 15 big-league seasons, but his velocity has fallen considerably in recent years, and he's unlikely to get another extended high-leverage role.--Keith HernandezSource: Atlanta Braves

The Philadelphia Phillies announced on Saturday that they selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Otto Kemp from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and placed first baseman Bryce Harper (wrist) on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move with right-wrist inflammation. Kemp, the team's No. 24 prospect per MLB Pipeline, gets his first major-league call-up after hitting an impressive .313/.416/.594 with 14 home runs, 55 RBI, 49 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 58 games for Lehigh Valley. The 25-year-old has the ability to play third base, second base and the outfield, but he'll most likely have the best chance for playing time at the hot corner in Philly with Alec Bohm sliding over to first base with Harper sidelined. Kemp should share playing time at third with utility infielder Edmundo Sosa.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

The Philadelphia Phillies announced on Saturday that they placed first baseman Bryce Harper (wrist) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to June 6) with right-wrist inflammation and recalled infielder/outfielder Otto Kemp from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move. Harper missed a week recently due to an elbow contusion and is now going to miss more time with a wrist injury after he sat out of Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 32-year-old two-time MVP will be eligible to return on June 16, but it remains to be seen if that will actually happen. For now, fantasy managers must keep Harper stashed in an IL spot and hope he can return sooner than later. Hopefully his wrist injury doesn't affect his power at the plate when he does come back. The former first-rounder heads to the IL with a .258/.368/.446 slash line with nine home runs, 34 RBI, 32 runs and eight steals in 213 at-bats.--Keith HernandezSource: Philadelphia Phillies

San Antonio Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox (finger) said he's doing well after undergoing season-ending surgery on his left pinkie finger in March. "I'm doing well," said Fox. "I've been cleared, so I played a little five-on-five, and I've done contact stuff, so I'll be ready for next year." The 2017 No. 5 overall pick spent his entire career in Sacramento before he was traded to San Antonio ahead of last season's deadline. He appeared in 17 contests for the Spurs before his year ended abruptly, averaging 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists while shooting a career-low 27.4% from behind the arc. With that said, the tendon damage in Fox's pinkie could have been the cause of his struggles, so there's a good chance he'll get back on track. He is also eligible to sign a four-year, $229 million extension come August, which would keep him paired with superstar center Victor Wembanyama for years to come.--Dennis ClausenSource: Danielle Lerner

Detroit Tigers infielder/outfielder Matt Vierling (shoulder) received an injection in his ailing right shoulder on Thursday. The 28-year-old is expected to resume baseball activities this weekend. The fifth-year pro had already missed most of the season to this point with shoulder inflammation, returning for four games at the end of May before heading back to the shelf. The fact that he'll resume baseball activities this weekend is a good sign, though, so hopefully the injury doesn't continue to linger. The 6-foot-2 slugger is coming off a season in which he belted 16 home runs and scored 80 runs, plus he is eligible at both 3B and OF, so there is some fantasy intrigue with Vierling, but for now, he's probably best left to the waiver wire. --Jarod RuppSource: Cody Stavenhagen - The Athletic

Cleveland Guardians catcher Austin Hedges has been placed on the 7-day concussion IL. The veteran suffered the injury on Wednesday when he was struck in the helmet by Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s backswing. The 32-year-old backstop stayed in the game but experienced slight symptoms the following day that did not subside, and with a history of concussions, the team erred on the side of caution. Hedges is there for his leadership and defense more so than his offense, as the right-handed slugger owns a .229 wOBA and 43 wRC+ in 61 PA, so there is little fantasy relevance here, but hopefully he can make a quick recovery. Dom Nunez was called up from Triple-A and received the start on Friday, but look for primary catcher Bo Naylor to be back behind the plate on Saturday.--Jarod RuppSource: Guards Insider

New York Yankees reliever Luke Weaver (hamstring) has received a PRP injection in his strained left hamstring. The 31-year-old is currently on the 15-day IL with the injury, but has also resumed his throwing program, so hopefully he's able to be on the short end of the original 4-6 week timeline that was provided. The righty had a phenomenal 2024 and has parlayed that success into 2025, posting a 1.05 ERA, 0.70 WHIP, and an 18.1 percent K-BB%, with eight saves through 25 2/3 IP (24 appearances). Devin Williams recorded the save for the Yankees on Friday, but did hit one batter in the appearance, and now has seven saves on the year. Weaver should continue to be stashed as he'll still hold value whether he's the official closer when he returns or not.--Jarod RuppSource: Bryan Hoch

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho (hamstring) has resumed baseball activities, including hitting in the batting cages and playing catch at the team's facility in Dunedin, Florida. The activity does not include running, though. The 28-year-old is being evaluated on a week-to-week basis, and at this point, it would be a stretch to see him come off the IL when first eligible on June 11. The left-handed slugger was hitting just .208 before the injury and logged only 100 plate appearances thus far because of coming off the IL in late April as a result of a separate injury, but with his power upside, there's reason to stash the six-year pro. Varsho blasted eight home runs on the back of a 17.2 percent barrel rate before suffering the hamstring strain, and hit as many as 27 home runs back in 2022, along with double-digit steals in three straight seasons.--Jarod RuppSource: Arden Zwelling

Athletics outfielder Denzel Clarke suffered a left shoulder contusion in Friday's contest against the Mariners when he sprinted full speed into the wall while attempting to make a catch on a Jorge Mateo fly ball in the fourth inning. The 25-year-old made the catch but was replaced in the sixth inning. It was a violent collision with the wall, but he initially stayed in the game, so hopefully the injury is not serious. The former fourth-round draft pick was slow out of the gate when he was called up, going 1-for-19 (.053) over is first six games, but since then he's gone 9-for-27 (.333) with a double, a home run, three RBI, six runs scored, and three steals. Seth Brown replaced Clarke on Friday and could draw the start on Saturday. For now, consider Clarke day-to-day.--Jarod RuppSource: Martin Gallegos

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert (elbow) is expected to make one more rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma before being activated from the 15-day injured list. The next start will come on Tuesday, so the timeline for his return lands sometime around June 16, when the Mariners will be facing the Red Sox in Seattle. The righty would likely take the spot of Emerson Hancock, who has pitched well as of late with a 2.91 ERA over his last four starts, or potentially Bryce Miller, who has been less effective, with a 5.36 ERA in nine starts. Gilbert made six starts before hitting the IL, posting a 2.37 ERA (1.71 xFIP), a 0.79 WHIP, and a 32.5 percent K-BB%. Fantasy managers will welcome him back with open arms after posting those kinds of numbers, although it will be tough to replicate those stats for the rest of the season.--Jarod RuppSource: Daniel Kramer

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard went off for three points in the opening period of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers on Friday night, finishing a 5-4 double-overtime loss with a goal and two assists. Additionally, he had a game-high eight shots on goal and blocked four attempts from the opposition. Bouchard became the first blue-liner and only the fourth player overall in NHL history with multiple three-point periods in the Stanley Cup Finals. It's been an impressive start to the series from Bouchard, who already boasts four points (one goal, three assists) through the first two games and has recorded 15 shots on goal. For the entire postseason campaign, he has produced 21 points (seven goals, 14 assists) in 18 appearances, with 52 shots and 26 blocks.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid produced three assists, including a highlight-reel pass during Friday's 5-4 double overtime defeat against the Florida Panthers in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. McDavid helped Evan Bouchard on the scoreboard and then set up Leon Draisaitl with an incredible move on the power play to give Edmonton a 3-2 lead going into the first period. After the Oilers offense went cold for a prolonged stretch, McDavid added another assist to his tally when Corey Perry sent the game into overtime with only 18 seconds remaining in regulation. McDavid became the sixth player in NHL history to post three or more assists in a Stanley Cup Finals matchup multiple times, joining Wayne Gretzky (4x), Gordie Howe (3x), Phil Esposito (2x), Bernie Geoffrion (2x), and Doug Harvey (2x). The Oilers captain continues to amaze each night, having collected 31 points (six goals, 25 assists) in 18 postseason games this year.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Florida Panthers center Sam Bennett started the scoring with a power-play goal in Friday's 5-4 double-overtime win against the Edmonton Oilers. He found the back of the net for the 12th time in a road contest this postseason, establishing a new Stanley Cup Playoffs record. Overall, Bennett has netted 13 goals in the playoffs, so he truly seems to thrive in the intense and intimidating road atmosphere. The 28-year-old, who is a pending unrestricted free agent, leads the Panthers with 19 points (13 goals, six assists) in 19 postseason contests, doing everything he can to secure a juicy contract for next season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Florida Panthers defenseman Seth Jones had a busy night in Game 2 against the Edmonton Oilers, finishing a 5-4 double-overtime win with two points (one goal, one assist), two shots, two blocks, two hits, two penalty minutes, and a plus-three rating in 34:35 of action. He spent over five minutes on the power play during the marathon matchup, although both of Jones' points were picked up during even-strength play. The 30-year-old has contributed four goals and five assists in 19 playoff appearances for the Panthers, while amassing 27 blocks and 42 hits. Recently, Jones has improved his offensive productivity, having notched three points in three games after managing only two points over nine outings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Colorado Rockies shortstop prospect Ryan Ritter went 1-for-4 with a triple and a strikeout during his MLB debut on Friday evening against the New York Mets. Ritter got the start at shortstop and was batting in the six-hole. In the fifth inning, Ritter would tally his first hit in the majors, which was a triple off New York right-hander Kodai Senga. The Rockies promoted their No. 12-ranked prospect earlier on Friday in a corresponding move that placed Ezequiel Tover (oblique) on the injured list. Ritter opened the 2025 campaign by making his Triple-A debut and looked quite comfortable. Through his first 52 games at the top level of the minor leagues, the infielder held a .305/.413/.635 slash line with 13 doubles, 16 home runs, and a 50:34 K:BB. With Tovar on the IL, Ritter should see close to an everyday role going forward and is worth adding in all standard leagues.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Florida Panthers center Anton Lundell recorded two assists in Friday's series-tying 5-4 double-overtime victory against the Edmonton Oilers. He set up linemate Brad Marchand twice, once during a short-handed situation in the second period and again in the second overtime, leading to the game-winning goal. Lundell finished with four shots on goal and delivered one hit, while logging a plus-three rating. It was another successful night for Florida's third line, which has provided excellent depth scoring throughout the playoffs. In 19 outings, Lundell has accumulated 14 points (five goals, nine assists), with a team-leading plus-15 rating.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Chicago White Sox catching prospect Kyle Teel went 1-for-2 with two walks during his MLB debut on Friday evening. Teel was batting the six-hole and was behind the dish. Teel hit a single in the fourth inning off Kansas City right-hander Seth Lugo. Fantasy managers should expect both Teel and Edgar Quero to share catching duties in Chicago. Earlier this season, Teel was showing high power upside with Triple-A Charlotte. Through 50 contests, the No. 28-ranked prospect in baseball posted a .295/.394/.492 slash line with 10 doubles, eight home runs, and seven stolen bases. Since May 1 at Triple-A, Teel was one of the most productive hitters at the level, posting a stellar .341/.400/.600 slash with seven doubles and five round-trippers. Given his power potential, he is worth adding in all 12-team standard formats.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com
