Colorado Avalanche goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood (undisclosed) is dealing with an injury before training camp. According to Avalanche beat reporter Brennan Vogt, Blackwood hasn't skated with the team all week and isn't taking any shots. After arriving from San Jose, Blackwood impressed last term with his rock-solid play in the Avalanche crease, and missing him at the start of the season due to injury would be a big loss for the team. Blackwood went 22-12-2 in Colorado during the 2024-25 campaign, notching three shutouts and posting a 2.33 goals-against average with a .913 save percentage. His absence would open up more playing opportunities for Scott Wedgewood.--Taavi Pailk
