New York Mets second baseman Jeff McNeil had a great day at the plate in a 13-5 win against the Rockies on Sunday, going 3-for-6 with two home runs, a double, three runs, and four RBI. The veteran has enjoyed the series in Coors Field, as this was his second straight game where he has left the yard. He's now slashing .257/.355/.533 with six home runs, 17 RBI, and 12 runs through 35 games. The 33-year-old is no longer a threat to hit for a .300 batting average like he was earlier in his career, but he should still provide a solid OBP and good enough counting stats to make him worth rostering as a middle infield option in deep roto leagues.--Jeremy HeistSource: MLB.com

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher George Kirby was dominant on Sunday in a 3-2 win against the Angels, striking out 14 batters over seven innings. He allowed two runs on two hits, which came on a Taylor Ward home run in the fourth inning. This start certainly put any worries to rest about Kirby taking a step back following his injury, as this was the most strikeouts he's tallied in a game in his career. The matchup against the Angels certainly helped, but it's clear that the 27-year-old is ready to step back into his role as a real-life and fantasy ace. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next start, which is set to be another good matchup against the Guardians.--Jeremy HeistSource: MLB.com

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen earned his fourth win of the season in a 7-5 victory against the White Sox on Sunday. He pitched a quality start, allowing two runs on one hit and two walks with seven strikeouts over six innings. This was a nice bounce back outing after giving up 13 runs over the past 7 ⅔ innings in his previous two starts. The seven strikeouts also tied the veteran's season high for an outing, a mark he has achieved four times now. The 33-year-old is best used as a matchup-dependent streamer for fantasy, as he can take advantage of low-scoring teams like the White Sox. He'll carry a 4.94 ERA into his next start against a more dangerous Athletics' lineup.--Jeremy HeistSource: MLB.com

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta bounced back nicely during Sunday's outing against the San Diego Padres. Coming into this start, Peralta had allowed six earned runs over his last two starts. Peralta was sharp in this one as the Padres could barely touch his stuff. The right-hander tossed six shutout innings, allowing one hit, two walks, while striking out three batters in the no-decision. Sadly, the Brewers weren't able to put any runs across the board. Fantasy managers will still take the strong outing by Peralta. He'll take a 2.69 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 78/31 K/BB ratio into his next start against the St. Louis Cardinals.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty was once again sharp on the mound during Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Flaherty retired the first nine batters he faced as the Cubs had no answers for him. The right-hander put himself in trouble in the fourth inning, but he was able to work through it without any problems. Flaherty finished this outing by tossing six shutout innings, allowing two hits, three walks, and striking out nine batters in the win. Flaherty has now tossed three straight outings of one earned run or less. He'll take a 3.41 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 85 strikeouts into his next start against the Cincinnati Reds.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Houston Astros outfielder Jake Meyers refused to get out during Sunday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. Meyers had two hits during the first two games of this series, but doubled that on Sunday. The 28-year-old went 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, and a run scored in the loss. Meyers has proven to be a consistent contact hitter with decent speed. He's slashing .302/.361/.412 with 10 steals on the season. He should be worth a look in deep leagues and AL-only formats.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes was once again fantastic on the mound, but didn't get much run support. Skenes had seemingly no issues as he threw 7 ⅔ innings, allowing only two hits while striking out seven batters in a no-decision. The right-hander has now allowed one earned run or less in six straight starts. During that span, Skenes has earned one win, which is very sad for him. This is looking like another Jacob deGrom on the Mets situation where the offense just can't score runs for their ace pitcher. Fantasy managers can keep running Skenes out there every five days and expect an excellent performance.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Detroit Tigers outfielder Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) made an early exit from Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Carpenter was taken out of the game following a double in the seventh inning. Afterwards, Carpenter admitted that he's still battling through hamstring tightness. That being said, the Tigers are expected to be cautious with Carpenter going forward. The left-handed slugger said he's not expected to miss any action because of the issue. It doesn't appear to be impacting him at the plate at all. Carpenter went 3-for-4 with two doubles during Sunday's win over Chicago.--Andy WebbSource: Chris McCosky

Boston Red Sox infielder Marcelo Mayer is out of the starting lineup for the second straight game. Mayer will head to the bench with left-hander Carlos Rodon throwing for the Yankees on Sunday. The 22-year-old appears to be in a straight platoon as he continues to sit out against left-handed pitching. Mayer hasn't exactly been great at the plate, slashing .229/.289/.371 with one home run and two RBI this season. In his absence, Abraham Toro will cover third base and bat sixth against Rodon on Sunday.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Bennett Durado of The Denver Post believes Nuggets guard Christian Braun is expected to be offered a new deal ahead of the 2026-27 season, possibly as early as this fall. The 24-year-old is nearing the end of his rookie agreement. However, he's easily coming off the best season of his career, averaging 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 39.7% shooting from downtown, meaning retaining him is certainly in the team's best interest. The Nuggets will likely try to avoid entering the second round, so who will remain on the roster in the coming years is unknown. Yet, the anticipated movement of certain players moving forward means Braun has an excellent chance to see more scoring opportunities, making him an ideal dynasty stash for fantasy managers.--Dennis ClausenSource: Bennett Durando

The Houston Texans are eyeing free-agent running back Nick Chubb to bolster their RB room behind Joe Mixon this year, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. "I was told that he's hoping to sign here soon, and maybe he gets something done before a minicamp gets into a team. Four-time Pro Bowler," Fowler said. It's unlikely that Chubb re-signs with the Cleveland Browns after they drafted multiple running backs in April. Dameon Pierce, the backup to Mixon in Houston, had just 293 rushing yards and two touchdowns in 2024. A gruesome knee injury has kept Chubb to 10 games the last two years, but he did rush for 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2022. The 29-year-old averaged a career-low 3.3 yards per carry in eight games in 2024, though, and there are valid concerns about whether he can ever be explosive as he once was before his knee injury.--Keith HernandezSource: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe (elbow) is back at the 6 and is hitting sixth for Sunday's series finale in the Bronx against the division-rival Boston Red Sox and right-hander Hunter Dobbins. After being hit by a pitch on his left elbow early in Friday's game against the BoSox, Volpe was held of action for Saturday's contest. The 24-year-old is back for the series finale, though, and will face a pitcher that none of the Yankees have faced yet. Volpe has provided a decent mix of power and speed for fantasy managers in deep-mixed leagues with eight long balls and seven steals to go along with 37 RBI and 30 runs scored in his 220 at-bats so far in 2025. He hasn't had a multi-hit game since May 24, though, and has gone 8-for-35 (.229) with two homers, a triple, two doubles, nine RBI and four runs scored in 12 games since then.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

Miami Marlins manager Clayton McCullough confirmed that right-hander Eury Perez (elbow) will make his 2025 season debut and start on Monday in the series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. Perez had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in April of last year and hasn't appeared in an MLB regular-season game since Sept. 20 of 2023. The 22-year-old showed his upside with a 3.15 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 108:32 K:BB in 91 1/3 innings in his first 19 MLB starts in 2023 and looked great during his minor-league rehab start with a 1.99 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 22 2/3 frames with Single-A Jupiter and Triple-A Jacksonville over eight start. Although Perez could certainly be rusty against big-league hitters upon his return, the upside is pretty tempting right away to use him in starting lineups on Monday in a great matchup against the Pirates.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Raisel Iglesias has been reportedly removed from the primary closer role. Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters on Friday that Iglesias won't be the closer going forward. This move isn't shocking considering Iglesias holds a 6.75 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 25/6 K/BB ratio this season. He's only 8-for-12 in save situations, so the Braves have decided to shake it up. It's unclear who the Braves are going to use in the ninth inning now. Pierce Johnson got the save chance on Saturday, but gave up a walk-off home run to Matt Chapman. It'll probably be a committee, so there isn't a clear pickup for fantasy purposes. Iglesias will certainly lose fantasy value with him being removed from the closer role.--Andy WebbSource: Sports Illustrated

Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (hamstring) appears to be on the verge of returning to the big-league roster. Westburg has been crushing the ball in the minors during his rehab assignment. He's slashing .360/.429/.760 with two home runs and five RBI across 28 plate appearances. Recently, O's interim manager Tony Mansolino told reporters Westburg is trending towards a return on Tuesday. That would be great considering Westburg has been sidelined since late April due to a hamstring strain. Fantasy managers should check back for another update on his status.--Andy WebbSource: Jake Rill

Athletics outfielder Denzel Clarke (shoulder) will make his way back into the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Clarke sat out of Saturday's contest after suffering a shoulder contusion on Friday. It's a bit surprising to see Clarke back after only one game, but that's good news for the A's. Clarke has been hot lately, slashing .333/.379/.481 over his last eight games. Clarke will cover center field and bat ninth versus right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano on Sunday.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (groin) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Unsurprisingly, Soler will head to the bench after exiting early on Saturday due to a lingering groin issue. The expectation is Soler will undergo further testing before the organization decides if he'll need a trip to the injured list. Fantasy managers will need to check back for another update on his status. Chris Taylor will cover right field and bat fifth versus right-hander George Kirby on Sunday.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh will head to the bench ahead of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. This is a well deserved rest day for Raleigh who is in the middle of a hot stretch at the plate. The switch-hitting catcher blasted two home runs during Friday's contest. In his absence, Mitch Garver will start behind the plate and bat cleanup versus left-hander Tyler Anderson. Garver does hit better versus left-handed pitching, but isn't someone worth rostering as a part-time player. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle is out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the New York Mets. Doyle is in the middle of an ugly slump, so hopefully a day off will help him get back on track. He's currently 3-for-31 over his last eight games. The offensive struggles have made Doyle a popular drop candidate lately, but he does have good upside with the bat. In the meantime, Sam Hilliard will cover center field and bat sixth versus right-hander Tylor Megill on Sunday.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com
Share:

Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez (lower leg) is in Sunday's lineup. Rodriguez will cover center field and bat in the two-hole. The 24-year-old exited Saturday's game after taking a line drive on his foot. However, after the game, his X-rays came back negative, and he was cleared to play on Sunday. Over his last eight contests, Rodriguez has begun to heat up at the plate, posting a strong .387/.406/.452 slash line with a triple, four stolen bases, and a 9:1 K:BB. Before this recent surge at the plate, the former top prospect held a slightly lower .272/.316/.457 line over his last 23 games. This afternoon, Rodriguez is a viable target in DFS facing Los Angeles left-hander Tyler Anderson, who enters this game holding a most 3.86 ERA.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

The Arizona Diamondbacks are promoting left-handed pitcher Kyle Backhus to the major leagues. In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks are designating catcher Aramis Garcia for assignment. Backhus has yet to appear in the major leagues. This season, the left-hander has been one of the most reliable bullpen arms in Triple-A Reno. Across 24 1/3 innings of work, Backhus has posted a strong 2.22 ERA with a 1.44 WHIP. Across this stint, he has struck out an impressive 36 batters while allowing just 10 free passes. Last season, he held a much higher 3.94 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP across 32 innings of work. Fantasy managers should expect Backhus to have a role as a middle-relief option in the Arizona bullpen. However, with A.J. Puk (elbow) still on the 60-day IL, Backhus could eventually become a top left-hander in the Arizona bullpen.--Andy SmithSource: Arizona Diamondbacks

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages is not in Sunday's lineup when the Cardinals face the St. Louis Cardinals. Pages has been a regular in the Dodgers' lineup throughout the majority of the season. Over his last 15 contests, Pages has held a stellar .339/.364/.532 slash line with three doubles, three home runs, and a 5:3 K:BB. Through 61 total games, Pages has posted a .288/.332/.489 slash line with nine doubles, one triple, 12 home runs, and 39 RBI. Under the hood, Pages has generated a strong .281 xBA with a .345 xwOBA, which suggests he should continue to see steady production throughout the summer. This afternoon, Hyeseong Kim will get the nod in the center field and will bat in the nine-hole. The Dodgers are a viable target in DFS facing St. Louis right-hander Michael McGreevy.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

ESPN's Jordan Raanan writes that New York Giants veteran quarterback Russell Wilson has been a natural mentor for all of the team's QBs this offseason, including rookie first-rounder Jaxson Dart. After signing in late March to a one-year deal in free agency, Wilson has quickly established himself as a leader and respected voice in the locker room. "I've always viewed it as you're always trying to be the best version of you, and then you're always giving back to everybody else," Wilson said. The 36-year-old organized a dinner this week with the QBs, O-linemen and running backs and also put together throwing sessions this offseason in various cities. While all of Wilson's reps this spring have come with the first-team offense and he will be the starter in Week 1, there will be plenty of pressure on him to perform well and to hold off Dart in 2025 after a disappointing 2024 campaign in Pittsburgh.--Keith HernandezSource: ESPN New York - Jordan Raanan

Chicago Cubs right-handed pitcher Porter Hodge (oblique/hip) completed another bullpen session on Saturday. Hodge threw 30 pitches. Hodge was also able to complete a session earlier this week on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be nearing a rehab assignment, as he has yet to face any setbacks following these bullpen sessions. Before the injury, Hodge was deployed as a high-leverage option in the bullpen. Across 19 1/3 innings of work, Hodge posted a 5.12 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP. During this stretch, he struck out 19 batters but showed weak command of his pitches, posting a 13.1% walk rate. He tallied two saves and six holds. When he returns, fantasy managers should expect Hodge to share the closer role alongside Daniel Palencia.--Andy SmithSource: Taylor McGregor

Chicago Cubs left-handed pitcher Shota Imanaga (hamstring) completed a 37-pitch bullpen session on Saturday. Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports reported that the left-hander is set to pitch in an Arizona game on Monday. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression as he may only need a few rehab outings before returning to the major leagues. Before his injury, Imanaga logged 44 2/3 innings of work to the tune of a 2.82 ERA and an impressive 1.10 WHIP. During this stretch, he struck out just 34 batters but showed strong control of his pitches, allowing walks at a 7.7% rate. However, under the hood, Imanaga generated a high 4.59 xERA with a .254 xBA, which suggests he could face some regression when he returns to the bump. When he returns, Imanaga will replace either Ben Brown or Cade Horton in the starting rotation.--Andy SmithSource: Taylor McGregor

As the Miami Dolphins and star cornerback Jalen Ramsey continue to work on a trade, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Ramsey isn't planning on attending mandatory minicamp this week, according to sources. Nothing is imminent on a Ramsey trade, but the 30-year-old seven-time Pro Bowler appears likely to be playing for a different team come Week 1 this fall. It's not a money issue, but rather a relationship issue with the Dolphins. A return to the Los Angeles Rams is possible for the former fifth overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders could also be in play to land Ramsey. In his second year with the Dolphins last year, Ramsey had 60 tackles (39 solo), a sack, six tackles for loss, two interceptions and 11 pass breakups in 17 starts.--Keith HernandezSource: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Philadelphia Phillies right-handed pitcher Zack Wheeler (paternity) is set to return from the paternity list on Monday to face the Chicago Cubs. The ace of the Philadelphia rotation has been sidelined over the past week due to the birth of his child. However, Wheeler is in line to make a quick return to the rotation. Before missing time, Wheeler logged 76 innings to the tune of a 2.96 ERA with a stellar 0.92 WHIP. Across this stretch, Wheeler has tallied 94 punchouts and allowed walks at an impressive 6.1% rate. Under the hood, the right-hander sits in the 96th percentile in xERA and 94th percentile in xBA. He has also allowed hard contact at a strong 32.4% rate. Fantasy managers should continue to view Wheeler as a high-end SP1 in all formats going forward.--Andy SmithSource: Scott Lauber
