Jose Ochoa will look to win back-to-back fights as he takes on Asu Almabayev on the main card of UFC Abu Dhabi on Saturday. Ochoa made his UFC debut back in November 2024 at UFC Macau but was unsuccessful as he was defeated by Lone'er Kavanagh via unanimous decision, which was also his first professional loss. He was last seen in action at UFC Atlanta, where he got back in the win column by finishing Cody Durden via second-round TKO. DraftKings sees Ochoa as a slight favorite with a salary of $8,200.--Alen KurbasicSource: UFC

The New York Mets have traded right-handed pitching prospect Wellington Aracena and right-hander Cameron Foster to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for left-hander Gregory Soto. Aracena has spent the entire 2025 campaign with Low-A St. Lucie. Through 64 1/3 innings, the right-hander has posted a strong 2.38 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP. He has struck out an impressive 84 batters while allowing 34 free passes. Last season, Aracena made his Low-A debut but struggled, posting a hefty 9.45 ERA with a 2.18 WHIP across six appearances (two starts). Fantasy managers should expect the 20-year-old to remain at the Low-A level with Baltimore for the time being. However, given his strong campaign, he could be in the mix to earn a taste of High-A before the season's end.--Andy SmithSource: Andy Martino

The New York Mets acquired left-handed reliever Gregory Soto from the Baltimore Orioles on Friday in exchange for minor-league pitchers Wellington Aracena and Cameron Foster, league sources tell SNY's Andy Martino. The move comes after Soto picked up his first save of the season on Thursday against the Cleveland Guardians in the first game after the O's placed closer Felix Bautista (shoulder) on the injured list. The 30-year-old southpaw mostly served as a lefty specialist out of the bullpen for Baltimore this year and will likely do the same with his move to the National League East. It's bad news for fantasy managers that just picked Soto up off the waiver wire in hopes that he'd see more save chances with the O's. With Soto now gone, Seranthony Dominguez is the overwhelming favorite for saves in Baltimore until Bautista is able to return.--Keith HernandezSource: SNY - Andy Martino

Bogdan Guskov will look to extend his win streak when he takes on Nikita Krylov on the UFC Abu Dhabi main card opener on Saturday. Since losing his UFC debut to Volkan Oezdemir back in 2023, Guskov has bounced back and won three fights in a row. Last time Guskov was seen in action was in January at UFC 311, where he extended his win streak to three by finishing Billy Elekana via second-round submission. DraftKings sees Guskov as the underdog with a salary of $7,500.--Alen KurbasicSource: UFC

Nikita Krylov is scheduled to face off against Bogdan Guskov on the UFC Abu Dhabi main card opener on Saturday. Krylov was last seen in action in April at UFC 314, where he lost to former light heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes via first-round knockout. Prior to that, Krylov was on a three-fight winning streak. Since signing with the UFC, Krylov has gone 11-8. DraftKings sees Krylov as the favorite with a salary of $8,700.--Alen KurbasicSource: UFC

After the Arizona Diamondbacks traded first baseman Josh Naylor to the Seattle Mariners on Thursday, the D-backs will likely turn to Pavin Smith (oblique) as their everyday starter at first base going forward, even though he's currently on the injured list with a strained right oblique, according to MLB.com's Manny Randhawa. The 29-year-old lefty hitter recently resumed taking dry swings, but it's unclear when he'll begin a minor-league rehab assignment or when he'll return to the big-league roster with added playing time. And when Smith does return to Arizona, he might only be starting at first base when the team faces right-handed pitchers. The former seventh overall pick in 2017 out of Virginia has hit .261/.371/.446 with an .817 OPS, eight homers, 28 RBI and 33 runs in 222 at-bats, but he has just 17 at-bats against southpaws in 2025.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com - Manny Randhawa

The Athetic's Tim Britton wouldn't be shocked if New York Mets third baseman Mark Vientos were traded in the next week, but he also doesn't expect him to be traded, mainly because his right-handed bat can be a useful complement to Jeff McNeil and Brett Bay, who both hit left-handed, on the infield. Vientos' plate discipline has been similar to his breakout in 2024, but his quality of contact has been way down this season. The ball just hasn't been coming off his bat as expected, and it's been a concern since spring training. The Mets are putting more of an emphasis on Vientos finding more barrels, and they are hoping to see some improvement over the next two months. The 25-year-old former second-rounder is hitting just .224 (57-for-254) with six home runs and 25 RBI in 72 games. However, he's also had a hit in each of his last five games heading into this weekend.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Will Sammon and Tim Britton

The Atlanta Braves announced on Friday that they reinstated infielder Austin Riley (abdomen) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Nacho Alvarez Jr. to Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move. Fantasy managers will want to check back later, but Riley should be right back in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener on the road in Texas against the Rangers and right-hander Nathan Eovaldi at Globe Life Field. Fantasy managers will also be hoping that Riley will pick up where he left off in July after missing the last two weeks with an abdominal injury. The 28-year-old right-handed slugger had gone 13-for-41 (.317) with two home runs, five doubles, six RBI and five runs scored in 10 games earlier this month before getting injured. Riley definitely lengthens Atlanta's lineup and gives them more punch in the middle of the order. Get him back into starting lineups.--Keith HernandezSource: Atlanta Braves

Cleveland Guardians shortstop Gabriel Arias (ankle) could be activated for the team's series this weekend against the Kansas City Royals, according to MLB.com. Arias has been on the 10-day injured list since June 30 due to a left ankle sprain, but he's played in four games for Triple-A Columbus since starting a rehab assignment on July 18. The 25-year-old logged 281 plate appearances for Cleveland before getting hurt, posting a .231/.293/.369 slash with six home runs, 31 RBI, 28 runs scored, and three stolen bases. He'll be in the mix for everyday playing time at shortstop upon his return to the big leagues. Cleveland has mostly used Brayan Rocchio at short in Arias' absence. Rocchio is a slick fielder, but he's recorded a miserable .542 OPS in 169 plate appearances so far in 2025.--Will BradySource: MLB.com

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell (shoulder) will make his "fourth and likely final" rehab appearance for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says that the team will discuss whether to have Snell make another rehab outing or rejoin the major-league team after he gets through Saturday. Snell went down in early April with inflammation in his left shoulder after just nine innings pitched. Snell has thrown nine innings across three rehab outings to this point, allowing two earned runs while walking just one and striking out 17. He has the stuff to be a fantasy ace upon his return, but health and inconsistency have been issues for the talented left-hander throughout his career.--Will BradySource: Orange County Register - Bill Plunkett

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho (hamstring) is having his rehab assignment moved from Single-A Dunedin to Triple-A Buffalo and could rejoin the big league club on Monday for their series against the Baltimore Orioles, according to Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet. Varsho has missed time this season due to both shoulder and hamstring ailments, and he last appeared for the Jays on May 31. In exactly 100 plate appearances, he's slashed .207/.240/.543 with eight home runs and 20 RBI. Varsho's speed may be somewhat limited as he works his way back from a hamstring injury, but he was a major power threat before getting hurt. His stellar defense could keep him in the lineup every day, but the Blue Jays also have Nathan Lukes and Myles Straw as centerfield options on the big league roster.--Will BradySource: Sportsnet - Arden Zwelling

Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen (forearm) took a big step in his rehab on Thursday when he completed the second night of scheduled back-to-back appearances. Treinen threw 12 pitches in a perfect inning with two strikeouts for Triple-A Oklahoma City. In six innings at Triple-A, Treinen has not allowed an earned run, struck out nine, and walked just one. The 37-year-old has not pitched for the Dodgers since mid-April as he works through a forearm issue, but it appears he could be close to a big league return. Los Angeles recently placed Tanner Scott (elbow) on the 15-day injured list, so there's a clear opportunity for Treinen to earn saves at the back end of the Dodgers' bullpen. Of course, Los Angeles has been linked to just about every prominent relief arm on the trade block, so there could be added competition for Treinen in the pen when he does return.--Will BradySource: Oklahoma City Comets - Alex Freedman

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Cade Povich (hip) made a rehab appearance with Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, throwing five innings and allowing two hits and one earned run while walking two and striking out six. Povich was placed on the 15-day injured list in mid-June with inflammation in his left hip. Thursday marked his third rehab outing, and he hit the 70-pitch mark, so his next start may come in the big leagues. The 25-year-old lefty threw 64 2/3 innings (12 starts) for Baltimore before getting hurt, recording a 2-5 record with a 5.15 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts. Povich has shown the ability to generate swing-and-miss (23.9% strikeout rate), but he allows far too much hard contact (50.8% hard-hit rate allowed). His pathway back to a regular role in Baltimore's rotation will become clearer if the Orioles trade away veteran Charlie Morton at the deadline.--Will BradySource: milb.com

St. Louis Cardinals infielder Nolan Gorman (back) could begin a rehab assignment next week (July 28), according to Katie Woo of The Athletic. Gorman was placed on the 10-day injured list in mid-July with lower back pain and has since received a pain-killing injection. The 25-year-old has played every infield position other than shortstop for St. Louis this season. In 226 plate appearances, he's hitting .219/.310/.408 with nine home runs, 29 RBI, and 31 runs scored. There's no question that Gorman has power (.471 xSLG), but swing-and-miss continues to be an issue (30.1% strikeout rate). He's blocked off from everyday playing time by veterans Nolan Arenado at third base and Brendan Donovan at second base, but St. Louis may make a move or series of moves at the trade deadline that could free up some opportunity.--Will BradySource: The Athletic - Katie Woo

According to Adam Schefter, free-agent offensive guard Michael Jordan is signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No, it's not the NBA superstar with the same name as the 62-year-old probably isn't in shape to play football right now. This Jordan is heading into his sixth-year in the league. He most recently made 11 starts with the New England Patriots last season. Jordan was released late in the season and joined the Green Bay Packers practice squad. He figures to compete for a depth spot on the roster. Ben Bredeson and Cody Mauch are the starters going into camp, so maybe Jordan can earn a spot behind them.--Andy WebbSource: Adam Schefter

According to Jordan Schultz, free-agent tight end Noah Fant is scheduled to visit with the New Orleans Saints. Fant recently did a visit with the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday. The meeting reportedly went well and the two sides are planning to stay in touch. Fant is likely to see all his options before making his final decision. He was released by the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. It doesn't sound like it's going to take him long to find a new home. Last season, Fant finished with 48 receptions, 500 receiving yards, and one touchdown in 14 games with Seattle. His fantasy value will be dependent on where he signs.--Andy WebbSource: Jordan Schultz

Jacksonville Jaguars two-way player Travis Hunter will be making his camp debut on the defensive side of the ball on Friday. It looks like the Jags are going to start Hunter slow and have him only practice on one side a day. After a few weeks, the Jags want Hunter to practice on offense and defense daily. It remains to be seen how the Jags plan to use Hunter during the regular season. Hunter figures to split up time between offense and defense, but will likely play on the offensive side more frequently. Fantasy managers should get a better idea of his usage as camp goes on.--Andy WebbSource: Travis Holmes

Houston Astros right-hander Ryan Gusto will start Friday's game against the Athletics, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. With Lance McCullers (blister) landing on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday, the Astros needed someone to step into the rotation, and it appears the Astros will go with Gusto, who has made 22 appearances on the season and 12 starts. For the season, Gusto sports a 4.46 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and a 77/26 K/BB ratio across 77 2/3 innings pitched. Fantasy managers chasing points or quality starts could take a chance with Gusto on Friday, but he is not considered a great streaming option for the long haul. The Athletics' offense has been generally better against right-handed pitchers of late and ranks 17th in the Majors in runs scored.--Nicho RoesslerSource: Brian McTaggart

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields (toe) was seen back on the practice field on Friday. This seems surprising considering Fields was carted off the field during Thursday's practice. Afterwards, it was revealed that Fields suffered a dislocated toe. The good news is that he appears to have avoided any major injuries. Fields is already back on the practice field, so an injured toe isn't going to stop him. If he was to miss time, Tyrod Taylor is the primary backup on the Jets. There is still plenty of time for Fields to get fully healthy before the beginning of the regular season. It's looking like Fields is going to be fine going forward, but fantasy managers should stay tuned for more updates. UPDATE: Head coach Aaron Glenn said Fields is "day-to-day" with his dislocated toe. “It is urgent," Glenn said, "but also we want to make sure we get as many reps as we can with him.”--Andy WebbSource: Adam Schefter

Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson appears to be becoming a favorite target of quarterback J.J. McCarthy. During their first practice, McCarthy reportedly looked efficient and effective while targeting Hockenson quite frequently. Hockenson could certainly use a boost after being limited to 10 games last season. He returned from a torn ACL and never quite regained his superstar form. Before the injury, Hockenson posted back-to-back 900-plus receiving yard seasons. The Vikings don't have a ton of weapons on offense, so fantasy managers could be looking at a bounce back year from Hockenson.--Andy WebbSource: The Purple Persuasion

Dallas Cowboys running back Miles Sanders reportedly looked good while playing with the first-team during Thursday's practice. According to Calvin Watkins, Sanders is running smoother than Javonte Williams in practice. It's early in camp, but it seems like Sanders is the favorite to be the lead back in Dallas. The 28-year-old hasn't done much on the field over the last two seasons. However, Sanders rushed for 1,269 yards with 11 touchdowns during his last season as the full-time starter in Philadelphia during the 2022 season. Sanders wasn't productive in Carolina, but maybe a move to Dallas will help spark him. The expectation is that Williams and rookie Jaydon Blue should also be in the mix in the backfield. This could end up being a three-back committee, but too early to tell right now.--Andy WebbSource: Calvin Watkins

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren was going through first-team reps during the beginning of Thursday's practice. It would make sense that Warren would get the first chance at the starting job in Pittsburgh. He has earned that opportunity after putting in solid work as the backup over the last few seasons. Most notably, Warren rushed for 784 yards with four touchdowns while earning a 5.26 yards per carry during the 2023 season. The departure of Najee Harris will give Warren a chance to earn full-time reps this upcoming season. However, third-round pick Kaleb Johnson figures to be breathing down his neck. The Iowa product should immediately be in the mix in what many believe will be a co-starter role. It's hard to imagine either back running away with the job, so a co-starter type of situation seems likely.--Andy WebbSource: Brian Batko

Miami Marlins shortstop prospect Andrew Salas went 2-for-3 with his first professional home run on Thursday evening during their contest against Low-A Palm Beach. The 17-year-old is playing in his first professional campaign with Low-A after joining the Miami organization earlier in January. Even though he is just 17 years old, the infielder has held his own against professional competition. Through 72 total games, Salas has flashed strong speed upside, swiping 24 bags while posting an impressive .343 OPB. However, his power has yet to translate, given his age, as he has only tallied eight doubles, two triples, and just hit his first long ball on Thursday. Dynasty managers should continue to monitor his development as he will likely remain in the minor leagues for at least the next four seasons. However, he has already begun to showcase solid potential and could be viewed as a top prospect once he continues to mature and develop.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Zyhir Hope enjoyed a productive day at the plate during their contest on Thursday evening against High-A Beloit. In this game, Hope went 4-for-5 at the dish with a long ball, a stolen base, and four runs. This was his third-straight game with at least one hit. The 20-year-old has looked rather impressive during his first taste of High-A action this season. Through 86 games with High-A Great Lakes, the No. 31-ranked prospect on MLB.com has posted a strong .293/.393/.476 slash line with 21 doubles, three triples, and 10 home runs. Hope has swiped 14 bags and added 58 RBI with 46 runs. Last season, the 20-year-old posted a .905 OPS with Low-A. Given his impressive development this season, Hope could be in the mix to open the 2026 season at Double-A, which could open the door for a late-season MLB debut.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop prospect Konnor Griffin went 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases during their contest against High-A Brooklyn on Thursday evening. Griffin recently moved up to the No. 1 spot on MLB Pipeline's prospect ranking and has yet to slow down at High-A. Since moving up to High-A earlier this season, the former ninth overall pick has posted a .319/.422/.487 slash line with seven doubles, four home runs, and 18 stolen bases. Griffin opened the campaign with Low-A, and posted a strong .338/.396/.536 slash line with 10 doubles, nine long balls, and 26 stolen bases across a 50-game stint. The Jackson Prep High School product is quickly progressing through the minor leagues. Even though he is at least several seasons away from his MLB debut, he should be viewed as a high-end stash in all dynasty formats.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com
