Nolan Schanuel Hoping to Return Next Week
Nolan Schanuel (wrist) said that he's going to Arizona on Wednesday to ramp up his baseball activities and is hoping to be activated from the 10-day injured list at some point on the team's upcoming road trip (but not in Seattle this weekend), according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. It sounds like Schanuel might skip a minor-league rehab assignment, which means it's possible he could be back in the team's lineup as early as Monday in Milwaukee against the Brewers. The 23-year-old left-handed hitter has been out almost three weeks with a bone bruise on his left wrist, but he is almost ready to return as the starting first baseman to close out the season. Until Schanuel can return, Logan Davidson and Oswald Peraza will continue to split time at first base for the Angels.
