North Carolina running back Caleb Hood announced his decision to retire from college football on Friday, as reported by Inside Carolina. "After much thought and prayer and discussion with my family, I have decided to retire from football," Hood wrote on Instagram. "My journey at UNC has been special, and I appreciate my time here. I am excited to start the next chapter and will always take my memories of Carolina with me." It's unclear why Hood made this decision, but he began the 2025 season as the Tar Heel's starting running back. Hood was a fifth-year senior who spent his entire collegiate career with North Carolina. Overall, he tallied 114 rushing attempts for 515 yards and three touchdowns to go along with 24 receptions for 194 yards and one score in 31 career games.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller
