Noah Syndergaard Chooses The Dodgers
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a one-year deal worth $13 million with free-agent right-hander Noah Syndergaard on Wednesday. The 30-year-old is expected to join the team's starting rotation next year to help make up for the losses of Tyler Anderson and Andrew Heaney. The man they call Thor began the 2022 season with the Los Angeles Angels before being traded to the Philadelphia Phillies at the deadline in early August. In total, he went 10-10 with a 3.94 ERA (3.83 FIP) with a 1.25 WHIP and a career-low 16.8 percent strikeout rate in 134 2/3 innings over 25 appearances (24 starts). Last year was Syndergaard's first season back after having Tommy John surgery, and his velocity was noticeably down, making him mostly a league-average pitcher. He'll be hoping the Dodgers coaching staff can get him back on track in 2023.
