Michael Roberts Must Prove He Belongs
6 years agoDetroit Lions tight end Michael Roberts must prove he belongs on the roster this offseason after the team added veterans at the position in free agency and drafted rookies as well. Jesse James and Logan Thomas were added in free agency and T.J. Hockenson (first round) and Isaac Nauta were taken in the draft. Roberts, a fourth-rounder in 2017, has largely been a non-factor in the NFL so far. He caught nine passes for 100 yards and three touchdowns in eight games in 2018 and ended the year injured. Hockenson and James are the clear-cut starters at tight end, but Detroit could use a lot of three-tight end sets, which could include Roberts. Roberts is the best red-zone weapon of the group, but he should be off fantasy radars unless an injury hits either Hockenson or James.
