7/7:Houston Astros catcher Max Stassi will start behind the plate Saturday afternoon against the White Sox. Stassi has been nursing a sore forearm the past few days and backup Tim Federowicz has seen some playing time this week. With veteran catcher Brian McCann on the shelf after undergoing knee surgery, the everyday duties now fall on Stassi's shoulders. It is quite possible that, at some point, the Astros go out and acquire a veteran catcher but the job is Stassi's to lose for now. Stassi has been solid, if unspectacular, this season but hit only .163 in the month of June. For the season Stassi is slashing .253/.340/.476 with seven home runs and 22 runs batted in. There should be better options in fantasy currently than the Astros backstop.--Joey C - RotoBaller
