Marquise Goodwin Set To Take Over No. 2 Role
2 years agoWith Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett (finger) expected to miss several games after requiring surgery for a broken index finger that he suffered in the Thursday night loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Marquise Goodwin will move from the No. 3 to No. 2 role behind DK Metcalf. Lockett leads the Seahawks with 964 receiving yards and eight touchdowns this year, so Goodwin should have some significant volume for however long Lockett is out. Head coach Pete Carroll said second-year pass-catcher Dee Eskridge is close to returning from Injured Reserve due to a broken hand, so he could give Seattle another receiving option as soon as next week. The 32-year-old Goodwin is certainly worth a waiver-wire pickup for next week with Lockett injured.
